What is up with Mid/Jg champs?

Just something I have noticed, especially in the last year is that Riot nerfs most champions that are viable in both mid and jg. The two main champions that have been receiving this treatment are Sylas and Qiyana, and I admit that these two have been problematic in terms of being too good at too much. However, it still seems like other champions can get away with being good at multiple roles as long as those roles aren't mid/solo lanes+jg. As someone who plays primarily mid and jg it would be really nice to have some champions that are good in both of these roles so I can narrow down my champion pool. Thoughts?
