Arguably you can debate morg, annie, and lux were designed with the support role in mind, but you know damn well vel'koz and brand were never meant for this, and malzahar is already seeing support play right now. I'm even upset Zyra was balanced around the support role for the mage update instead of going where she belongs, mid lane.
How many mages will it take bot lane to fix this? Yea I get it, Ziggs bot lane is fun and adds diversity but c'mon, I agree there should be a meta with niche diversity but not the actual meta be around these mids in the wrong position. Zyra was flat out nidalee'd when pushed out of mid lane.
support used to be a thing, but she actually returned mid lane.
