Reports do not reduce honor, especially false ones. Why would a report that the system inspects and rejects have any impact?

Actually they do. If you get reported a decent amount, it doesn't matter if they're false. There are many cases which prove this if you search forums... including people playing very non-meta picks getting suspended. No one's reading your chat logs. There's no jury. It's just a simplistic AI and keyword search followed by report agreement and frequency stats.

Riot has clarified repeatedly that reports do nothing except trigger a review.

People getting banned for playing offmeta are actually getting banned for one of the following things: feeding, getting in flame wars with their team, afking afterwards, or all of the above.

Also confirmation bias, echo chamber, and meaningless sample sizes.

Incidentally i have been playing bizarre off-meta stuff very frequiently for years, and never received as much as a warning for it, despite getting reported very often, usually by ADCs who are getting carried by support garen ect.

Riot has repeatedly lied about it or at least used the term misleadingly. If there isn't report agreement, it's true that you won't be punished but if there is, you definitely will have it count against you regardless of whether the reports were justified. They do not have an advanced AI system truly understanding context, humor and language (literally no one does so please don't pretend they do when they can barely solve primitive technical problems with their client and engine... they'll ban players for even quoting toxic players when getting offended ex: "very negative behavior, Mr.Wiggles just called me "") and practical play has proven that it's an automated system based on keywords, report frequency and report agreement. Singed support is one such case where the guy was not toxic at all and merely went Singed support with Smite, counterjungled the enemy and then went back bot. He managed to do so maining it in Platinum ELO and still got a suspension till a thread blew up on reddit. There are many such cases if you care to look. They aren't the norm but they prove this is how the system works especially with certain "evidence" logs which are complete nonsense and don't even seem toxic. In that case, said player likely was toxic before and thus very close to a punishment threshold so even a game where he wasn't, if some people dislike him, will take him over the edge with false evidence.

I'm honour 5, and on an approximately weekly basis like to go on an off meta adventure supporting as something I do not have a S rank mastery chest for (i.e. the majority of non-supports), until I get my chest. I've had a little bit of grumbling in some of my games, but as I'm genuinely trying to win (and am broadly a support main, so it usually isn't a feed fest), any reports on me would be found to be false and so no issues arise.

Do you pingspam or otherwise flame/troll via non-verbal methods?

Nope. I made the chat screen hella small and turned off all chat. I carried games and the guy who died the most got more honor then myself.

Yeah, the person that dies in the fray after setting up the perfect teamfight with a great initiation does tend to get more honor overall than those that swoop in and kill everyone. I'm assuming semi-optimal conditions of course.

I feel you man. I hit honor 3 the day after it was first possible on NA servers (there is a time element to honor as well so that first wave got a bunch of people at once) and I'm still honor 3. I don't flame, I'm positive in chat if I'm talking, I don't ping spam and don't afk and I am still honor 3. Some of the most toxic people on my friends list play 1/4 as much as me or less and are honor 5. I'm wondering if ranked counts more than normals or something because I should be honor 4 at least by now. I have a friend who has played literally 30 ish games since honor came out and he just hit 3, so I'm not sure what's the deal.

The worst part is people think I am toxic whenever I try to bring it up on the forums, I just want to know why I'm still honor 3 and I get downvoted super hard because everyone just assumes I'm toxic. I'm not, it's like the algorithm for honor is bugged for me or something. I just want honor 5 by the end of the season for the rewards :/
