How can riot make support a more enjoyable role?

It's ok if you don't enjoy every role. There is more than one way to play it anyway; are you sure your impression of the role isn't simply limited to a narrow view?

Nothing needs to change, it's a powerful role for specific personalities while offering a variety of play styles from tank engage supports

nothing needs to change, the players toxic mind set needs to change.

Give supports the ability to carry their ADC. That is the only way. (A la Zyra/Brand/Annie/Karma/Sona)

Currently, playing support is leaving your fate to the unknown. You "might" have a awesome ADC but then again, you might have a shitty one. No one wants to have that kind of thought process while trying your best..at least not me.

I dont like the new "support" meta. Where everyone is playing glass cannon ap mages in the bot lane. If you pick an actual support champion...Janna, Leona, Alistar....and the enemy takes something like velkoz or leblanc, then your basically screwed. GG bot lane lost...they have 3x's the dmg you do. IMO support is slowly being phased out, and soon wont really exist anymore. Instead of playing a support champion, people are opting for mages who build full blown dps. The fact that you can earn as much gold as the mid laner by playing support now is ridiculous. But Rito seems to be okay with all this cuz they arent showing any signs of changing it. As an adc main....i honestly hate it. Theres very little skill involved in bot laning phase nowadays....its just team deathmatch and who can blow the other up faster. The days of strategy and smart decisions in the bot lane are over it seems. Just pick Leblanc and Q+W or Q+R the enemy adc every few seconds til he has to go back. Then when he gets back in lane, do it again and make him go back 20s later. smh

They already made support enjoyable the day they gave us Bard

The thing that really makes support enjoyable is having solid teammates; they don't have to hard carry the game, but at least give me something to work with. There's nothing more miserable than crushing your lane 1v2 as support, turning around and realizing your ADC is still down 20 CS since they can't last hit.

One thing that might be cool is gaining ward charges on Sightstone by killing enemy wards. Like if you kill 3 wards, you get one ward back. That way, it's not too powerful since you really have to control vision and vision denial in order to maintain your wards, but it'd be nice to have that extra ward every once in a while.

By removing the ADC's ability to call their support shit, trash, etc without punishment.

I'm a support main and I think the role is enjoyable. Seeing my friends succeed is all that matters to me.

It will never be enjoyable yet balanced because playing support is actually playing a completely different game.

Unless you are playing some shitty APC glass cannon, it won't be "fun" to most people.

Supporting has been enjoyable for me because you get rewarded for using thought to outsmart idiots, not just playing the fucking "hurr durr reaction xD!" game.

Nobody has mentioned this, but one of the best things you can do to encourage good supports is list support statistics as accomplishments. During the end game screen, you see all kinds of damage and towers taken and what not. The support stats you see are basically assists and healing done. They need to add more statistics that supports main in like wards placed, wards spotted, and active item uses.

Plenty of people really enjoy support, I actually like playing it though I play another role most of the time. For me you'd have to put "jungle" in place of support in the title. I just don't enjoy it at all, everyone has a role like that.

People just wanna kill shit and go on killing sprees. If we give the support income items a new passive that nets you more gold on assists, this might help. It should allow enough gold for those kill hungry players to have a chance to make their dreams come true.

They have already done leaps and bounds with adding SightStone and changing how earning gold works. Before, it was hell being support because you were expected to only buy wards, boots, and maybe one or two items if you could afford them. And since gold is distributed not just on who gets the kill on a champ, but how much you contribute to the death, that's also helped supports from getting flamed too much from accidentally getting kills in lane.

I already significantly enjoy support, I'd be more sad if they changed it.

Making vision depend on the entire team and not just making the support the wardbitch.

I enjoy playing support as well. Getting your laner fed peeling or engaging or just being a nuisance is fun. If your bored just go troll pull blitz lol.
