Anyone's matches NOT shorter than before?

I've played 6 matches on the new patch. They went, in order, 20m, 31m, 41m, 34m, 41m, 26m. The 6 prior? 20m, 42m, 36m, 50m, 21m, 30m. The former averages out to 32 minutes, and the latter 33. So, on average, my match length went down... 1 minute. That's even with a relative anomaly, the 50m match (had only 3 go 50+ in 2 weeks), upping the pre-patch average.

To top it all off, nearly all of my matches have been closely contested for the majority of the match with no more snowballing than normal. Each match felt completely winnable. Needless to say, I'm a bit thrown off by all the posts about matches not going as long and being "over in 10 minutes" stomps. Does anyone else share my confusion, or am I alone in this?

I agreee with you. My matches haven't really felt any shorter than they used to.

Well, towers go down faster.

I think teamfights just go on and on, thats what makes it longer imo.

Towers do go down faster. That much I'll agree on. For example, I've faced Nasus plenty of times in the past, but never have I seen one melt two turrets so easily only ~20 minutes in. It was horrifying.

My first two matches were really snowbally, but I would attribute them to human Error, more so than the new system. First match, our fiora forgot to set the new masteries. Second match, our ADC strait up fed the enemy.

I think they are shorter. With more gold coming in and the items aren't that much more expensive than they were. I'm noticing at least 1-10 min shorter games. I don't think you will see that epic 50 min game as much anymore. But people are still learning how so maybe it's just because someone doesn't understand th e mastery yet

Yeah people have actually been trying to win when behind instead of endlessly spamming ff for me.

It really comes down to the winning team's ability to keep up the momentum vs the losing team's ability to halt them, so results will always vary.

But I think statistically the games have been shorter, dunno, I could be making shit up.
