[Gameplay] How it feels to play the new Veigar
Huah~ ha di dah di dah I am Veigar at level 1. Let's start with Q.
Q..........basic, Q............ Q....................................
Doodlidabididoo 'tis finally level 8. Time to get my W (Yes I get W at level 8 don't judge my #S2STRATS).
Time to go in for a kill! E............................... oh he walked out of that oh well. Seems like I can no longer use E in lane.
And at the same time my W is useful no longer.
Because my W is no longer useable, I can't kill with R.
And that leaves Q.

QQ.
To be truthful, I kinda like the new Q. It feels good to 1-for-2 nearly full HP minions at 15 minutes. And the occasional double kill off of a single Q feels especially good. It becomes rather mindless after a while, but it's not like it wasn't before.
But seriously, the new Veigar's lane is SOOO BORING. Can't land E, can't land W, R is ineffective, so in practice the new Veigar is FORCED to farm Q for the entirety of early-mid game. The new Veigar is repetitive, static, predictable, vulnerable, and risky. All the things players DON'T like about playing a champion. His PvP gameplay isn't gratifying either. Every time I land an E, it doesn't feel like I deserved it. It feels like the enemy either a) is really bad or b) had a slip of the mouse.
It doesn't even matter that E has a ~6 CD late game. It doesn't matter how many shitty E's I land. I want to be able to land one REALLY GOOD stun. Now that's gratifying. Can the new Veigar ever give the satisfaction of placing the perfect 5-man stun? No, it can't.
I really wanted to like the new Veigar. I really did. But it's impossible. The very mechanics that made Veigar fun has been reduced to obliterating not those who you've clutched and cornered into the tiny palm of your hand, but rather those who were "unfortunate" enough to get caught in the once-removed "skill" shot that is this new stun.
I liked new Sion when he came out. He was different, and he wasn't the best, but he was fun. He still is.
New Veigar is not fun. Not one bit.
