Why do the bans belong to last-pickers?

Cause it doesn't make sense.

First-pickers have to risk it for the biscuit and suffer from counterpicking.

Last-pickers have the benefits of banning AND counterpicking the enemy team.

It doesn't make sense.

I, as an main - which is easily countered in champ select - am confused.

EDIT: don't know why this is downvoted. Imo I brought some decent points

Because it used to be that the first player got all three bans and first pick, which meant that they always always always got the role and champion that they wanted.

Honestly, I think everyone should be able to ban, because that way, you don't have people asking those 3 people to ban what they want banned.
