The Boards Problems are not Actually Lee Sin, Yasuo, Ahri, ETC

Hear me out.

Yes Most people want those champions nerfed. I sometimes complain about them too.

This is not truly the problem. Riot has proven time and time again that if a champion is one of their favorites, they will either take a millennia to nerf them or will do it so slowly that the champ still dominates for such an extended period of time. If your philosophy was the same for every champion the community would have less of a problem with it.

Shaco is strong for like 2-3 patches. Immediately gutted out of Viability

Azir is strong for one Split. Immediately gutted out of Viability

Sejuani finally sees play after cinderhulk comes out. Immediately gutted

Malzahar strong? Let Riot just ruin the entire champion in 2 patches.

Meanwhile these champions like lee sin or Graves or Yasuo are just running around destroying the Rift. Lee Sin and Yasuo for 3-4 years and Graves for 1 year for example, and Riot just won't do anything. After all that time Lee has finally recently gotten meaningful nerfs and Yasuo got a small nerf after a previous set of small nerfs. I appreciate Riot doing that but why didn't they do what they did with the previous champion. When they nerfed Shaco they nerfed 3 abilities at the exact same time and cut the damage in half on all of them. But with these champions they take it so damn slow to make sure its completely perfect and they don't push them out of meta.

If you would treat all champions the same Riot most people wouldnt have a problem, but you don't. You clearly favor some champs over other champs and nerf and buff accordingly and thats frustrating.

Sincerely,

Somebody who watched you destroy my Main champion (Shaco)

Opened thread expecting an actual discussion.

Just another Lee Sin/Yasuo QQ thread.

I'd argue against Yasuo, that dude was trash-tier for awhile. Definitely not 3-4 years, more like grave's where it's 1 season

as for why Riot has "favorites", it's because the community has favorites. Believe it or not, all of these problem-champions that the boards hate often have huge fan-bases. Lee Sin is the best example, where his play rate barely dropped even after a nerfed hit his win rate by 4%. These guys are fun to play and have a massive playbase, you can't just nerf a champion like that if you're looking from a sales/economic standpoint.

it sucks but it's the honest truth

Those champions have a much higher playerbase, so Riot has to be careful about how they approach nerfing them. If they mess up, a lot of people are going to get pissed off. Perception is sometimes greater than reality. If someone perceives a champion to be weak or not fun to play, then they're less likely to purchase skins or summoner icons for that champion.

Problems I have with the champs

LeeSin for the longest time had great movement, defenses, damage, literally lacking nowhere

Katarina Pops in and out so fast you wonder how it's balanced since everything's off cooldown and does ridiculous damage

Volibear Bite, nuff said

Tryndamere ult can't be delayed by stun/silence/etc.

Lux Ult cd refund, just wtf Riot

Fizz Dodge, Zhonya, Dodge

Fiora true damage on passive

Yasuo (I'd list what's wrong, but there's too much)

Ziggs turret execution

Syndra literally R to kill

Pantheon blocks turret shots

Leblanc absurdly safe

Ahri typically main her tho, but I think the problem with her is the speed boost from Q

Darius Ult reset when it kills

Talon too many jumps

Now yes there are quite a few champs, but every champ has an issue in their balance, but these just stick out to me than any other.

Did you ever consider on deciphering on why those particular champions only see little play for a while before being gutted out of viability.

Your QQ on the so called champion bias doesn't change the fact that they could be very well poorly designed.

Sejuani She is either complete shit, or borderline unkillable. She was perm banned during the cinderhaulk meta in 2015 along with Gragas. After that, she was gone for almost two years. Riot tried to bring her back with this tank update and failed miserably. They gave her one of the most questionable passives I have ever seen on a champion and for that, they had to gut her. You might as well delete her because she is just a huge fucking failure.

Shaco He's just another victim of the so called class update. He never needed to be changed in the first place, and as soon as he fell victim, he was going to be next on the chopping block.

Azir Here we have another doomed example why Azir hasn't been buffed yet. If you haven't been paying attention, Him and Viktor were smashing both Solo Q and competitive in the summer of last year. Gee, I wonder why? Probably because Azir is a lane bully with absurd range capable of pushing most opponents out of lane. The real problem he has is that he is a AOE ranged DPS champion. The closet one to match that is Xayah and even then, not nearly as obnoxious as if Azir were in the meta now. People have just been calling him for to be reworked because he's that bad.

Unlike these examples, there is a reason why LeeSin and Ahri get to see more play then your average champion. Because they are better designed. Not just because they have a bigger fanbase.

Yasuo is an exception and even then, he is not an autowin champion. You are just on a shorter time limit against him. I would do with a passive that replaces his double crit. He can have all of the fucking dashes, shields, knockups, suspensions, armor piercing, and a projectile denying abilities all he wants. The double crit passive allows him to build a item 3072 right after he gets his first two crit items giving him a LOT of flexibility in his build which is the real problem. It is huge pressure to the opposing team to close out games before he himself gets out of control.
