Kayn Passive forms

Its been about 8 months and kayn has settled into the game. While I think the champions lore, visuals, abilities are top notch and remind me of champions like jhin, i wish i could main him but something puts me off. Kayn was sold as a choose your own adventure, mid game adaptable champion, however I feel his passive ruins this. Because his passive is two separate bars filled up from separate champions, if you wish one form over the other for a specific game, you'll have to not gank certain lanes, or risk the penalty of 3 minutes in a weaker champion form. While kayn isn't bad I think it is not fun to play having to feel like you'll want to ignore specific lanes, camp other lanes, or gimp your team for 3 minutes longer. I personally feel i don't have control over which form i go and am more at the mercy of the game. Maybe a quality of life change or complete change to make progress in the other form reduce the timer you'd have to wait or make the bar longer and fills up the same from both ranged and melees. That way the fantasy of a truly adaptable per game champion could be achieved. While u might of gotten ur form from killing the overextending renekton top lane, the enemy adc has become fed so instead u opt into shadow kayn to deal with it. Got many kills on ganks on a double ranged bot lane but they got a galio and 2 other tanks? its darkin time. I feel like, while choice is a very powerful thing in this game, the current penalties are very unfun and kinda go against my natural instincts of jungling, and would gladly take a longer charge up bar for the option of true choice, and have my forms be up to me, and not what i killed. Just wondering if others share the same idea or if this is just my personal issue with the champion.

The bar has 0 to do with the type of champion you attack. The only thing that matters is the last champion you attack before the bar fills.

You can attack melee all game then attack kennen to complete the bar and you get shadow assassin.

Attack whoever you want and just make sure you fill the last part of the bar with the form you want

This is not completely true, the value of kayns orbs for each transformation goes up as the game goes, so if your bars are relatively close to one another, the champion at a later time (aka the one deciding ur transformation) has more weight than the earlier ones. This is what leads to what people think is the last hit deciding it, but thats not true, if you hit zero ranged champs and only melees, then kill lets say a 25% hp janna u stumbled on, as long as the timer and value for orbs isnt so high the janna will completely fill ur bar, progress to blue will occur and it will not trigger ur form change. But even if it did, the issue still stands that its not completely up to you, and instead the enemy champs you face, and if the enemy jungle invades you or something, he can trigger ur form change and make you deal with the time penalty if thats not the form u want. My main issue is the feeling that the passive is more a burden then the fantasy its currently trying to fulfill and that more choice at the cost of maybe time its worth it to me then the current form.

I don't know what where the proof is behind what your saying but based on my personal time spent on the champion plus the kayn main subreddit and kayns wiki page, all say that it is not the last person attacked. If it is and you have proof i will gladly change my stance, but this isn't even the issue i have its the entire evolution process in general which i believe could have some quality of life changes to help out kayn to be more reliable and feel better as a champion.
