Please please PLEASE do Rune sales more often.

Title.

I know that gating new players to runes is a way to get them to learn the game.

I understand that IP gains are the way they are to get players to grind and learn the game before trying to own all possible runes.

We know this, but even then it is still painful to try to buy Champions AND runes for them. It takes an absolute ludicrous amount of time to grind IP for both, and yeah "buy champs with RP" can be an argument - but honestly it is not a good one.

My proposition; do more Rune sales. The rune sale in the pre-season was AMAZING. I was so happy you guys did this, and it really helped boost the game potential for a lot of players because they now had access to necessary runes for their champions.

So please, I beg you - do rune sales more often. The community will love you for it.

Edit; to be clear, I am also for Rune Pages being put on sale as well.

Even if the level cap for Top Tier runes was removed, it's still an intense grind to fill out a rune page AND still be able to afford new champions.

Exactly. The fact that these runes are so expensive, yet so necessary if you have any plan of getting into ranked is very discouraging to new players. New players should be able to focus on their champion pool with their IP, not blowing over 2k IP on a single quint. I think all runes should be available and free to every players, but rune pages have to be bought with IP or RP.

Not trying to compare Apples to Oranges (even though it was made to be very similar), but the game Infinite Crisis allows players to use default "rune pages" (forgetting what they're called in IC atm) for heroes and give them the option to modify it using "runes" the player has unlocked by levelling up or buying.

Just saying. I understand where Riot is coming from for putting IP prices on Runes, but I think there should at least be more opportunities for players to purchase them at a discounted price.

Or just permanently reduce the prices of runes by 30% instead. hell even better, make all runes cost 400 ip instead of 200,400,800 and make all quint runes cost 800 instead of 500,1000,2000

Anything to make the IP grind less ridiculous would make me happier.

It's stupid that I can pay 10k IP and get only marks, seals and quints (had glyphs and page, that's another 10k...)

I second this motion! You guys had an unbelievably generous rune sale last year around this time and another nice sale at the beginning of the season. Of that, we all are very appreciative. However, these sales are far too spread out, we need more. It's a ridiculous amount of grinding to get the appropriate runes for a certain role and champion. Please consider another soon! Thank you.

They do it once a year or twice at much, if it was way frequent people would just wait for it, not convenient for the drain IP business model (yes, this event is calculated in order to drain IP's, motivating buying champs with RP). TOUGH, there's people willing to wait just for that event to spend their IP's, like me.

Here's the pattern OP:

When LCS spring/summer begins, pick one of them.
Maybe on September or October... or
When there's are a lot of limited free/buyable content. (trundle/karma/sejuani VU free limited skins + 5 TPA skins for example).

Next rune sale possibly on September or October OP, no promises. If you want to beat the system, you need to save at leat 20,000 IP's on your account all time just for the sale. Have done this 3 times :V.

Edit: Next sale may be only 2x1 rune page and not rune discount though. If it happens this year.
