Aatrox Rework Draft

MMk, so I used to be a heavy Aatrox main, but I found as I played through ranked and normals that Aatrox just wasnt really working well, His abilities didnt really fit the character, and were just really not working with this awesome character. I mean, this guys is supposed to be a legendary warrior that inspires his allies, and makes armies rally to him and fight by his side, but all that really happened in my games as Aatrox was just split push, get ganked by 3 or more people, and watch as my team did nothing and just complain about having an Aatrox on their team. So I've created a new and improved Aatrox. My goal with this rework is to make Aatrox into more of a team fighter tank or split pusher bruiser. I havent made names for any of the abilities yet, so feel free to make some suggestions about names or how I could improve the abilities! If Im missing anything, just let me know and I can edit the post to make this as accurate as possible!

(after note: Im not sure how accurate my math is on his base stats, so if someone with better math than me wants to check that, that would be awesome!)

So, without further adieu, the draft of my Aatrox rework:

Health:550(+84/lvl) (1,978 hp at lvl 18)

Health Regen: 6.6(+0.5/lvl) (15.1 at lvl 18)

AD:62.2(+3.4/ lvl) (120 at lvl 18)

AS:0.670(+5%/lvl) (1.52 at lvl 18)

MS:345

Armour:34(+2.5/lvl) (76.2 at lvl 18)

Magic Resist:25(+3.5/lvl) (84.5 at lvl 18)

Abilities:

Passive:

Aatrox stores 50% of self inflicted damage in his blood well, up to 110-890 health (based on level). Upon taking fatal damage, Aatrox enters Stasis, and revives himself for (40/55/85%) of the damage in his blood well. The blood well also fuels Aatrox, giving him 0.5-1% attack speed for every 2% of his bloodwell that is filled (based on level).

Side note: I was thinking that if Aatrox is able to "overfill" his blood pool, then he could get a small bloodthirster like shield, thoughts?

Q: Range:max 200-700 Cost:10% current health Cooldown: 18/16/15/14/13

Aatrox leaps into the air for up to 1.5 seconds, and can recast the ability to jump to a target location, when he lands, Aatrox knocks up all targets in the area for 0.5 to 1.25 seconds, depending on how close to the center the target is, dealing (55/100/145/190/240+40%AD) to (80/130/175/230/280 +60%AD)depending on how long the cast time was(up to 1 second).

Aatrox's range will increase depending on how long he is in the air, channeling for 1 second.

If Aatrox is crowd controlled while he is moving to his target location, he will ignore the effect until he lands.

W: Passive: every 2 abilities/auto attacks, aatrox applies a bonus on hit effect on his next auto attack.

Toggle off-Aatrox heals himself for (20/25/30/35/40 +25% AD) on his next auto attack, if Aatrox is below 50% ad, his healing is tripled Toggle on- Aatrox sacrifices (15/24/32/41/50 Health) to shred enemy armour by (20/25/30/35/40%) and deals 3x damage to the target.

E: Range: 500-750(based on bloodwell) 100 range to each side of sword Cost:7% current health Cooldown:13/12/11/10/9

Aatrox hits his sword on the ground in front of him, sending a shock through the ground in front of him, slowing all it hits by (30/40/50/60/70%) for (1.5/1.75/2/2.25/2.5) seconds dealing (75/115/150/190/230 damage+50%AD +65% AP)

R: Range:1500(active Buff)/700(inspiration buff)/550(enemy damage) Cost:20% current health Cooldown: 120/100/80(passive) 160/120/80(active)

Passive: for every attack Aatrox successfully hits, he will gain a charge of Inspiration, to a maximum of 10 stacks. After 5 seconds out of combat, the stacks will deplete at 1 stack per 1 second.

Inspiration: When Aatrox reaches 10 stacks, he and his present allied champions receive additional lifesteal(0.5/1.2/2.0%), spell vamp(0.4/0.8/1.6%), and attack speed(2/4/6) for each stack. Aatrox also receives 14 attack range for each stack. Upon attacking with all 10 stacks, Aatrox will use the stacks, but the stacks will deplete by 1 stack every 0.33 seconds, the passive will then go on cooldown.

NEW: After Aatrox uses all 10 stacks, his allies that were affected by it get a short debuff. This is a way for me to try and balance his passive here, and lower the cooldown of the passive. Tell me what you think! Does this seem balance? Too weak? Too strong?

New part to passive: After Aatrox has used his passive his allies that were affected by it get a (10/9/8) second debuff that lowers Attack speed, mana regen, and incoming healing by (20/30/40%)(This effects is reduced by (50/25/0%) on Aatrox.)

Active: Aatrox inspires all allies around him, boosting their AD(5/8/14%), Armor(8/14/20%), and Magic Resist(8/14/20%). Aatrox Grows in size, and shields himself for (100/200/350+5/10/15% max health and current armor and magic resist), Aatrox steals (3/5/8%) of the maximum health of the enemy with the most health in range of Aatrox, and gives it to his allies. If there are no allies in range of Aatrox, he will shield himself.

Thanks for any feedback you can get to me! #SaveAatrox

This might be neat

Rally Cry: Aatrox targets an enemy champion, tower, or baren. Aatrox and friendly champions do bonus damage to this target, if the target is killed within a certain time the next closest champion or objective is targeted. If no objectives are nearby part of the cooldown is refunded. Plz brainstorm w/ me.

That could be really cool!, but would this be a regular ability, or an ultimate? If its a regular ability, my E ability was the one I was most meh about, so we could switch it in for that!

It would be totally busted as a basic, and he would snowball team fights to hard, it would have to be either an ultimate, or a passive like fiora where you have less control over it.

mmhmm, this might be hard, the ultimate Ive got seems(to me) really good, maybe we could incorperate them both into each other? Like, Aatrox currently steals some health from a target in his range, but that did feel a little lack-luster, so, instead of stealing the health and shielding his allies, Aatrox just targets the nearest enemy, and if this certain person is killed, it will give like, another 2 seconds of his allies buff, or something like that?

I don't know that much about Aatrox but from what you said he sounds like a guy that leads people to battle. Your idea for the ult would most likely be used like this enemyRengar jumps on allyCaitlyn and then aatrox uses a gap closer ults on the rengar for the clutch shield on caitlyn and then you win the 2v1. This doesn't seem to be the vision you had, imo he should have siege potential, to match his lore better.

Ya, that makes sense, the thought I had was for a crucial teamfight

-enemy engages -aatrox ults the tank to get big shield for team -aatrox dives the back line -aatrox procs ulti passive -aatrox and allies have ~6 seconds of massive sustain overall

that was what I saw, but what your saying makes alot of sense, so then with this ulti, it would just be a sort of massive push on a tower and then pick off people and keep going, get another tower, and then go till you have to back off. Thats what your getting at with this one right?

DragonManSquid2 votes

Yeah, less reactive more push potential, something that would feel good to use. What about this: Aatrox builds up a bloodwell when he gets kills or assists(maybe a smaller amount for epic monsters) for his ult you unleash this damage. The damage done depends on how much damage you did when you got the kill, this would discourage ksing to stack the passive.

I like that, but the whole point about Aatrox was that he came at pivotal moments in a fight, and turned the fight around. That was what I was going for, at least. I feel like both of these two ultimates would be really good on him

-Aatrox wins battles and helps people in conquests, so that really makes sense for your ulti version -Aatrox also comes and changes the tides of battles in just seconds by rallying troops and making them bloodthirsty people for a short time, so that supports my ulti

If there were some way we could combine these ultimates, than that would be perfect. We just gotta find some way to do that with out making Aatrox too overpowered...

What if Aatrox rushes to an ally standing in front of them to shield the next attack. Depending on how much damage the attack would have done Aatrox releases an aoe shield focused on Aatrox. To get the most out of this ult your team would be forced to rally with you, instead of splitting off with individual shields. In addition the enemy team would have to engage you or let you get a free kill/tower. There would be no "getting picks" just an all out battle which I think is a fun scenario for both teams.

DarkSkittlez1 votes

That sounds good, So Aatrox blocks the shot, releases a shield on his team, and then the enemy has to either run or try to duke it out.

Sounds good, seems like this would be a thing that needs to be at a good time, to change the course of the battle, or give a nice push for Aatrox's team. I really like that, but how big of a shield? Does it just absorb the damage and give that amount of damage to each member on his team? or does the damage multiply by a bit, and then distribute it among his team equally?

DragonManSquid1 votes

The shield would be attached to aatrox and only aatrox. It would be a bubble blocking any damage coming in. It would have to be a little smaller than dragon pit to fit an entire team inside.

DarkSkittlez1 votes

That is soooo much cooler than I thought you were saying, so its almost like a kindred ult, but it helps only your team, and it creates a barrier around aatrox? So does it stay in one place? or does it move with him?

DragonManSquid1 votes

It moves, so you can siege with it.

DarkSkittlez1 votes

awesome! that sounds cool, I like it, Im gonna head to bed now, but tomorrow, I'll put that new ultimate down, and try to balance it.(to the best of my ability, haha)

If i word it wrong, just say, and Ill try to fix it up

oke

I think it'd be cool to see an ultimate that can potentially never end. As long as Aatrox keep autoattacking, he keeps his ult stack things going. This is a good thought starter overall.

DarkSkittlez1 votes

Thanks, the ult passive was one of my favourite parts parts about this, but Aatrox doesnt get to keep those stacks forever, they dont even do anything untill he reaches 10 stacks, then he just gets a massive buff outta it. I really appreciate the feedback!

DragonManSquid1 votes

lol this would make people hate aatrox even more. You'd have noob players trying to keep that ult running and dieing to a full team under tower.
