So why no jungle kog?

I was wondering why does kogmaw see almost zero gameplay in the jungle. It helps his weakest time of laning phase not facing someone directly. He farms faster then anyone short of shyv and post red smite he can duel most junglers barring the super duelists like trundle and nunu.

Kog is actually pretty strong in lane if you know wtf you're doing.

Jungle hurts hard though and doesn't give nearly enough gold. Plus if he wants bloodrazor all he needs to do is take smite.

Also, counterjungling is a thing. Kog is free food for even the weakest junglers.

I dont necessarily find the counter jungling thing true. With red smite he does lots of true damage and he synergizes with bloodrazor better then most. Also wouldnt his clear speed tend to give him a slight exp lead after first clear? But I am new to the game so im definately not high elo.

Kog doesn't want exp nearly as much as he wants gold. There's a reason why he shares the exp with a support (who protects him and his gold) in bottom lane.

His clear speed isn't fast enough to be all that great. Jungle monsters will outright kill him if he doesn't back after 2-3 camps.

As for counterjungling, yeah, I too could pull of a lot of that stuff at say silver. Heck even gold. But when you run across someone who knows even a little what he's doing, you're in for a pounding.

Ok thanks for the explanation I have tried him a little more in ranked (I know that is stupid but people play smarter there) and after 3 matches I had one against a nidalee where I was aggressively counter jungled and that sucked until I reached the bloodrazor point. I was 0/2/2 at 15 min and we ended up losing the game due to me not being able to provide any pressure compared to a nidalee.

Yes, unfortunately that's how it ends up working out. When the stars align and you do well it's amazing, but unfortunately it's really hard to get there.

I actually went against a jungle Kog as Master Yi.

Turns out that even Master Yi can simply sit in his jungle, farm all his camps and kill him if he comes close.

Not enough gold or mobility. Not a bad pick though.

Well according to your Bronze 2 status, anything works in your elo. Get about Gold & higher, your question would be like people asking why is the water wet.

Well in korea jungle kog has a 53% win rate at lower elos and a 54 at plat + . I was asking why we dont see him not if it works I know it works

HorusEye2 votes

Mind elaborating out the playrate? Winrate means nothing if you don't mention the playrate, and post the link source. It's like already asking for Galio nerfs when he has 55% winrate & 0.05% playrate, see how dumb this kind of statement is?

Nvm, your 53% winrate comes from a 0.87% overall.

So yep, your question is definitely a "why is water wet?" statement.

if the enemy picks Elise, Nunu, Lee Sin, Xin Zhao, Shaco, Gragas or Nidalee you are screwed. And those are all common meta junglers

The Gragas and nunu ones I am not so sure about post blood razor/red smite you would dominate them with all your true damage I think. A tank elise or lee sin would also be pretty even in a duel at that point.

agreed, but the problem is getting to that point. Both those junglers will probably be in your jungle after their first clear, and if you meet them you will probably die and set you behind to the point of irrelevance, and you will be trying to catch up while they are still doing their thing. Kog is gold dependent and Nunu will be starving you out and you will have to avoid Gragas because he is tanky and his cc will mess with your DPS
