so you just admitted you're bronze?

You do realize that about half of the population of players are bronze.

It really isn't that bad for someone to admit that they are bronze.

What is sad is when people can't admit that they are stuck in bronze because they deserve to be in bronze.

I was Silver 5 before resets, so say whatever you want.

nm10101 votes

And now you are a 33% winrate bronze 5.

Speeedy3 votes

sometimes winning in bronze has nothing to do with your ability, I lost 5 games in a row yesterday (in the process of getting demoted from Bronze 1 again for the 2nd time) due to people raging and straight up DC. Its very hard in bronze to carry teams when 1. someone rages and DC or 2. someone feeds and then they get raged at and DC 3. feeds complains they got no help and then continue to feed more

I have a 55% win rate but games where I am up in bot lane with a 4/0/0 and have 75 cs @ 10 min I still cant win when my mid/jungle is 0/5/0 & 0/4/0 to the enemy mid laner. You pretty much just hope your team doesnt get mad/DC every game.

nm10101 votes

Even diamond+ don't run a 100% winrate in bronze, but 90%+ is pretty normal so it definitely has a lot to do with your ability. Assuming you always play well and don't rage yourself ~100 games should get you out of bronze if you have decent mmr and play around a mid silver level (might take a lot longer if you are low silver). In season 3 I got out of bronze 2 0 lp in ~20 games and I absolutely sucked back then.

Speeedy1 votes

i keep track of games in excel with demo review so i can improve and i have a 78% win rate when no one DC, that is the biggest problem I have so ability is not the issue its getting your team to cooperate when they are upset.

nm10101 votes

So if I go look at your games I will see DC's in a large majority of your losses?

nm10101 votes

I went ahead and did it for you, in the last 8 days alone I found 14 losses with no dc (possibly 15 one dc was like the last 3 minutes of a 17k gold deficit game) which account for ~23% of your total losses already invalidating the 78% stat you used.

Speeedy1 votes

you should see the demos then when people disconnect for 5-15 min and they just steam roll ahead, it makes a bigger impact than you think when they come back and have taken a few towers because we cannot fight being down a person then are behind in global gold. I have an 8% win rate in bronze 1 this season. B1 isnt much different than B2 but its hard to win games when people arent playing for time in it. Also I don't count it as a DC in my demo review of my game unless its longer than 5 min. Stat pages on op.gg only ever show a part of the picture and if you dont watch the demo you can never really know what happened by looking at someones stat pages.

Actually I have a pretty solid way to see when they dc, here take a look.

https://i.gyazo.com/b2ea8dee765c692771db7dbfcd82ed25.png

The exp over time map shows that everyone is in exp range constantly, which means they are not dc'd. Compared to the one solid game I did find you can see the difference.

https://i.gyazo.com/9c007427c3c0cf0afa5ae9d6946ada45.png

It flat lines because they are no longer getting exp from being near minions or doing jungle. They aren't even near teammates to soak up proximity exp.

Again only 2 possible games with dc's show up and one was more than likely a loss anyway.

90% in bronze? It is sad that I have to have skills of gold/plat to get out of bronze.

My plat/diamond have lost on my acc last season.

You have to realize that even if a person wins it's lane, he mostly likely cant carry other two lanes because in bronze, a lane is not lost at 0 2, it is lost at 0 9. And 7 0 midlaner cant carry 0 9 top and 0 7 bot. Maybe a diamond player could, but a silver/gold... hard....

nm10101 votes

You have to have the skills of a gold/plat if you want to get out quickly, just like you need the skills of a plat/diamond if you want to leave gold quickly. The season is a year long, if you run a 51% winrate you are probably going to take hundreds of games to leave and yes that is fair if you can't win more than 51% of the games.

Lexyy1 votes

You have to have skills of gold/plat to get out of bronze. But only skills of plat/diamond to get out of gold.

There is silver between bronze and gold. And plat is a division above the gold.

That's exactly what I'm trying to say. If you are silver skilled player you're gonna have a hard time in bronze even though you're better than bronze and are not meant to be in that elo.

nm10101 votes

As someone who has made the climb multiple times there is a difference between bronze/low silver and high silver/low silver. You can get out of bronze with mid-high silver skill, but its going to be fairly hard as a low-mid silver player due to riot's placement system.

Every Tom, Dick, and Harry gets placed into silver 4-5 even if they deserve bronze so there isn't much of a difference between the two (this even leaves some to say silver 5's are worse than bronze players). Silver 2+ there is definitely some semblance of skill in the players and they would get out of bronze relatively quickly (~100 games).

I'm in my promos for silver now, fairly quickly compared to my last year.

My problem is, I'm supp/mid main (I love supp mostly) and it has been hard for me to climb as a support. It's hard to carry, and I'm pretty dependent on how my adc/top are doing. I'm not plat or anything, but my supp play is around high silver/low gold, and mid around mid silver (or so I've been told by plat/diamond players).

Last year I noticed my support skills are much more useful in silver. I had a hard time climbing out of bronze, but I got from s5 to s3 really quickly (less then a month) and complitely solo (and then the season ended).

nm10101 votes

Nothing against you personally here, but you are in your promos with a negative winrate. If you really want a working system you probably shouldn't be climbing right now.

My cousin had a 30% winrate until he mained braum to climb from ~bronze 2 elo to mid silver with a 70% winrate (and he is a bronze player) so the support argument I never find super convincing.

A mid in low elo just needs to pick an aoe mage, farm well, then proceed to kill everyone since no one focuses you unless you actually walk into melee range with them.

You have a negative winrate overall last season and relatively few games played so it is entirely plausible you just got a few good teams more than normal.

Lexyy1 votes

Maybe I should be climbing right now, but seeing your match history.... you shouldn't be either.

nm10101 votes

Yeah entirely switching champions does that, plus the facing previous master/high diamond players isn't helping in the few games I have played (for example when I ended the season d4 I was top 25,000 players, plat 2 is now top 15,000).

The difference between you and me is you want to complain where I am just taking a break until I a) feel better on my new champs or b) more people actually play solo q so I don't have to play against aphromoo, viper, for annie, etc to hit plat 1 xD.

The plat 5 smurf (was plat 3 last season) is doing pretty well though.

Tired of people not giving any thought to what they say and do.

true i've been in silver but guess what i'm going to admit i don't have the skill to go to gold .. everytime i get to gold promos i failed maybe cause of me maybe cause other people just didn't perform. Lots of us are in silver/ bronze/ gold cause we still don't have the skill to move up. I for one don't know how to improve my game play and i would say in a plateau on raising my skill. I think i do what i can from my part but maybe its not enough.

Mysticman895 votes

I feel like suggesting that support mains get carried is another sign of showing a bronze/silver mentality. Once you get past the insane constant fighting without vision or team coordination elo, supports are one of the most important members for carrying a team, since their ability to peel and set up vision is going to very strongly influence the outcome of the game.

þaby ghost1 votes

I feel like trash because I'm having to play things like annie to raise my winning chances, but i appreciate you speaking up for supports, the unsung heroes. I really just wanted to post something to amuse some people but it seems since I said I'm in bronze right now they can just automatically call me trash. I didn't start playing until April of last year really, so getting s5 in the middle of the season which was my first I don't consider too bad, and I know someone who had the exact same placement w/l and got bronze 1. What makes it difficult for me to play ranked is that I do main support, and not only is it a roll of the dice to not gt a totally braindead adc in bronze but i cannot remotely carry the game as supp unless I get lucky and the top, jg, or mid is competent. Yes, for now I'm bronze but in all honesty pretty much everybody has been at some point. I wish people would just remember how much it sucked and say oh yeah sucks rather than immediately assuming that person is trash. I quit ranking because I would try to play support and lose every time but I finally decided to try again since I had nothing to lose. If i can only make it to s4 then it is what it is, but at the end of the day it's a game and besides the toxic people I would rather enjoy my time spent playing it and knowing I'm not trash than having to "prove" it with a single rank, which yes can pretty much be determined by luck in low elo.

nm10101 votes

Most people can go 2-8 in placements and still place ~silver 5 so it is relatively likely low silver is just as unskilled at the game as bronze.

SciFi Scrivener1 votes

I went 6-4 in placement, got Bronze 2. End of last season I went 3-7 in placement and got Silver 4. They are being stricter in placements this season, so far.

nm10101 votes

First season of placements is usually more lenient. My cousin was the 2-8 case in his original placements season 6 and got silver 5 (he dropped to bronze 1 from gold 5 this season with 5-5), I also had a guy at work that wanted a bronze 5 account that went 1-9 and got silver 4. My first season in ranked I got bronze 1 with 4-6, this was back in season 3 though.

silver 5 = bronze 5

hahah I always consider silver 5 players as bronze, generally silver 4 as well. It doesn't really matter ranks all sort of start blending together after awhile. Only reason I think it is because I have played in low elo for a super long time so I have a general stereotype for players within mid gold to low bronze ranks. Its not right every game but after thousands of games it becomes a generality that normally fits. Even when I couldn't get out of silver I could always get through silver 4-5 easily so in my mind I have just always considered this range bronze even though its not technically correct.

Restless Slumber1 votes

Anything below Plat 3 usually blends together as all the same in my mind. I mean in my head I think that literally anybody can hit diamond 5 because of how many bad players in that elo.

Dukues1 votes

I respect that I think your right. However, for most players that is a lot more time and energy invested to reach that level than most people will invest. At least speaking for myself and my friends.
