First of all, shoutout to Jewlluminazis who made the post. I just copied it so its seen more. I will gladly remove the post if he asks for it.

"So, I should be writing an English paper right now but my annoyance at the rework keeps coming to me, so I figured I should rant about it and then get back to work. Where better to post it, I guess? I've only played marksman update Kog'Maw a few times. Specifically, the final time he was on free rotation before the rework was reverted. But I loved him int he times I played him, because he felt so unique. He had a unique identity to him as the AS-breaking ultimate dualist hypercarry thingy, with potentially the most fun late-game fantasy of any champion. (Yes, 1-shotting people with Nasus is fun, but you know what's even more fun? GWARHAGRHAGAGGAHGRHGAGRSAGRGRRRGAAAGHAHAGRBRAGA) The main argument against him is that he was busted, which I technically agree with. I think he deserves to be that ultimate lategame ADC who takes a comp around him to make work. I also think he did powerspike too early. However, that's easily fixable with nerfs, which actually better solidify the downsides of his identity of having a trash early game. And if they snowball it and know how to take advantage of this bad early game? Well, Kog'Maw saying "feeding time" whenever he moves will take on a new meaning. On-Hit items really aren't busted. They're specifically made to be under-efficient unless you build attack speed for them, which is only good on certain champions, but potentially the best for Kog'Maw. Which isn't a bad thing! Black Cleaver is only a good item on certain champions, but potentially the best on Darius due to his built-in synergy based on the nature of his kit. Must he be nerfed into the ground because he had super special synergy with the item? New Kog, as I see many people here complaining about, whether he's stronger or weaker, lacks identity. Just another damage-builder with a couple skillshots and a long-range ult. Whee. People did complain about 5.0 AS Kog being OP, but he had to work so damn hard for it and they had so many chances to shut him down that if he gets to that, he damn well deserves it. People say half the damn champions in the game are OP - Except their mains, of course. They're perfectly balanced! People who main a champion understand their weaknesses better than anyone else, and see that they're not broken, or at least not too broken. If it's true for Noxian Micheal Jordon in my case, I know it's the same for you guys with Void Doggo. TL;DR: I don't care about Kog's power level. I don't play him except in normals when he's free, and I'm rarely against him. My concern is that Riot, for the sake of their ever-failing attempts to balance betrayed the spirit of the marksman update: giving identities to the ADC. I personally don't care about the AP ratios or the stat per level stuff. I'm just very saddened that Riot removed something truly special and unique from Kog'Maw, and even if I'd rage while dying to him, I'd really like to see Kog'Maw 5.0 AS back. Even if they had to nerf other stuff: Kog'Maw wasn't just an ADC. He was fun, he was hilarious to watch, and he was Kog'Maw."

Actual Kog main since before Season 1 started here.

Double attack speed Koggy was a problem because he bent a whole class of items over his knee, not just one. Riot removed him because he was bad at the LCS level (gotta have those sick plays) and very clearly over-tuned at the Solo level. And of course because Kog's existence made balancing any OnHit effects quite difficult.

I do agree with the general premise that Kog lacks an identity, however. I've been saying for years that Kog's kit is pulling him in three different directions, none of which he does particularly well (non-selfish tank buster, long range machine gun, artillery platform). Riot finally took the bait and focused Kog on one of those identities (machine gun) but they decided that they didn't like it. They've said that they don't think Kog's artillery identity is healthy for the game. Multiple times. And to expect nerfs if it ever gets good.

So that just leaves us with Kog's non-selfish tank buster niche.

And honestly?

I think Riot could roll with that one.

With a remade passive and Q (and possible R) Riot could turn Kog into the best resistance shredding, damage amping champion in the game. Even better, it would firmly fit with his supposed identity as the glue that holds low damage, high utility teams together. With Kog contributing not just his own impressive damage, but amping the damage of his whole team, suddenly a comp that would normally suffer from a lack of damage is a real threat.

Identity: Protect the kog'maw and win the game.

Passive - Late Game Time Bomb: If the game reaches 40 minutes, the enemy Nexus automatically explodes.

Nah, sorry.

Not feeling it.
