Why cant people just play support when they get autofilled?

Why do they have to be so pathetic and lock in other role? I become the nice guy and go support. But can something be done about these people?

Because people like to be difficult.

I don't get it either. I understand not wanting to play a carry role like Bot or Mid, but Support? Dude, first, you do almost no damage anyway so if you lose you can always just say "sorry, autofilled support" and everyone will understand. Second, support is the easiest, most relaxing role to play in all of League. How are you gonna get mad about chilling out for 30 minutes?

It's like when we were kids and the boys didn't want to touch anything pink because it's "girls stuff." Like they think support is a "girl's role" and it's beneath them to play it themselves.

As a jungle/support main, I never get autofilled LOL.

This kind of thread makes me laugh seeing all these self righteous support mains come out of the woodwork claiming support is fun. Guess what guys, the MAJORITY of the playerbase disagrees with you. Theres a reason support is so often the autofill.

I'm bronze 65000, and I have the 'carry or feed' mindset. I'm too old, white and straight to be LCS material and I know it. I have no illusions about my rank or skill. I play to have fun, and getting autofillled as support is about as much fun to me as having a door slammed on my balls. If I get autofilled as support, I announce to my team and suggest a trade or its double jungle meta. I don't care if this ruins my chance to win. I'm not here to tryhard, I'm here to have fun. Too many people in ranked act as if their playing on a sponsored professional team and its win at any cost, and fun factor is the first thing you're expected to sacrifice.

Its not my fault or any other players fault that Rito can't come up with a way to make support a more desirable choice. It's on them.

Because nobody wants to play that garbage role that receives no credit when they can make flashy carry plays with Yasuo

Anyway I'd rather support myself than have some buffoon playing Soraka for the third time in his life in Ranked

just fyi people were forced to fill prior to season 6 and the dynamic queue where you select roles and sometimes have to auto fill.

it was called every game : draft pick and blind pick. in blind pick if you didnt 1st call a role you got stuck with what was left. and in draft pick we all ( or most) honored the pick order rule and the last pick usually was forced to fill whatever role was left. which majority of the time was support. and not only that the last two picks typically were forced to fill with the 1st pick getting what role /champ they wanted and it had a trickle down effect as you picked champs in champ select.

OR DID EVERYONE FORGET THIS ?

and oh .. i pick FILL most of my games... and i play whatever role im given. if i get mid i ask if someone wants to swap if they dont i play it .

and people are just being a bunch of self centered narrow minded spoiled cry babies over support and autofill. they cry how it makes them lose games etc but in the long run it is best for the game making people learn and play more roles and champs increasing the skill and knowledge of the entire player base

i main support and i have to agree getting support can be boring/tilting especially when you dont want to play it.

when im in that go big or go home mood support is literally the last position i want to play.

and when i play video games im usually in that mood

Seasons ago we didn't get to choose or roles before queuing. You would go into ranked and hope you were high enough in the selection to pick your role, otherwise you were forced to play something else.

Back then, the main arguments against anyone who refused to were to learn all roles, or just respect pick placement, usually both. Its definitely not echoed as much, but players are encouraged to learn all roles in ranked if they wish to climb as high as possible.

Disable autofill

YerroFever4/18/2017, 6:42:52 PM2 votes

Support is actually a really fun role. I don't have to focus on CS at all and I just have to worry about mini team fights all during laning.

I actually prefer support because it lets me focus on winning exchanges and not about sitting and farming.

Salson4/18/2017, 6:52:46 PM2 votes

To be fair the support meta sucks. You get to play what? Janna Soraka Lulu

What happened to tanks? The role was at least fun when you got to decide the the pace of botlane with Leona Nautilus Alistar.

Imagine that you sink all of your hatred and prejudice into a very specific role. The role that nobody wants to play, but is the fulcrum and pivot in trying to balance out both teams, the role that gets no gold, but is expected to do everything, the role that people treat as little more than a playable minion and ward mule, but gets screamed at for anything and everything going wrong and is expected to provide all the buffs and crowd control that gets any other role all of the pentakills in the universe, the role that people claim is the easiest role ever, but then can barely even perform the simplest of tasks when they actually play it. Then top all of that off with the new wave of extreme sexism when it comes to the role (people thinking that only women should be delegated to the role while the men get to have the real fun).

Then imagine being delegated to that role. Being forced to play the thing that you sunk all of your hatred into. I've seen people throw a planetary shit fit and start breaking things in real life while screaming at the top of their lungs more times than I want to think about. One even threatened to kill himself.

Then imagine the culture that enforces this mentality even among those who don't actually believe in any of this.

Now imagine several hundred cases of this; several hundred games that were basically sabotaged because someone decided that being permabanned (or dead) is infinitely preferable to being support for less than a microsecond, much less a single game.

The community forcefully stigmatized the role, even though the support's performance is usually what makes or breaks a team, and the support more often than not has to go miles above and beyond the call of duty just to get the team to break even. And you'll probably get cluster reported, anyways, because of some stupid arbitrary bullshit the community decided the support shouldn't be allowed to do or have. It is an astronomically thankless role.

I don't really get this either. I have the slight feeling that people are too stubborn and proud to just chill and accept that they have to do it this 1 time. It's also frustrating so see that many people who do net get their will, will take the CS hostage.[sg-syndra]

Because they want to win.

IcyPepper5/21/2018, 5:18:13 PM1 votes

laughs in support main

I feel for you, though. It is annoying when that happens for other roles.

Friendly Ram3/2/2018, 1:14:33 PM1 votes

"Support" their lane and ask enemy support if they'll also support the same lane. Has worked in the past.

Mαgie5/21/2018, 12:35:35 PM1 votes

Ahh, that is how I started playing support too... Good ol’ days
