Why are you taking away another melee atk speed item?
New Guinsoos basically fused with Devourer. Now 800 gold more expensive and it loses all of it's upfront atk speed when you complete it. The payoff is what amounts for a nerf for the melees that build it and a buff for ranged (now takes 6 basics to stack it instead of 4). So now if I want to try to have an impact with it as a melee I have to put off my powerspike another 5 minutes for a payoff that is harder to get than it was previously? I'm also squishier than I am on live and unless I have built in lifesteal actually getting that payoff is going to cost me most of my health.
The only champs that are going to build this are champs that can afford to put off their impact on the game until basically 20 minutes; essentially, adcs. What we have here is another Trinity Force, another Bork, another Black Cleaver. When this patch goes live and we see Guinsoos Vayne and Guinsoos Corki running around deleting people because its broken on ranged champions, its going to be nerfed, again an the poor melee fools who have built this on their Irelias or their Xins or Jax top lane are going to see their champions fall into the gutter.
Melee atks speed champs have had their items optimized for niche champs for what is going on two years now. Can we not make an entire class of champions obsolete by making it gut wrenching to build damage items on them? Not everyone wants to play a tank top.
Give the item some up front atk speed at the expense of amount you receive per stack, lower the cost. Make it harder for range champs to stack it an easier for melees to stack it. Or if you want to keep it the same price, give it some lifesteal on hit so melees aren't don't die before they even get a chance to use the passive.
While you're at it, give us back Trinity, BorK, and BC.
