If you report a person for being toxic....

Could a mechanism be placed to prevent you from being put in a team with that person ever again? Or at least until you have like a week to forget them and blow off the steam.

I was doing a bit of solo q support earlier. I meet this person who was just so toxic, they really pissed me off and made me stop playing for the day after I reported them. Their user name was pretty distinctive so when I started to get on to another game the next day, I recognized it in loading screen when I realized I was supporting the same person again. I wanted to AFK I was so mad.

Is it possible to fix this? If a person is reported for being toxic, at the very least could you make sure they don't get placed into a game with the person who reports them? I normally don't report a person unless they are pretty bad, and that person is generally the type of person that I just do not want to play with EVER.

Nope, as people will abuse it by reporting bad players as toxic, so they don't have to play with them again.

The best way to solve this is, in my opinion, wait about a minute or 2 before you requeue, to guarantee you won't play with the same person.

I don't mind this idea, but I'd prefer that it go under blocking instead of reporting. When I block someone (which isn't often), it usually means that I hated playing with them and never want to endure it again. Not just that I don't want friend requests from them and I don't want to see them in chat.

When you come across someone that is having a bad game, don't be so quick to bash them. They might JUST be having a bad game. It happens to all of us.

As far as toxic players, instead of having a button to push and never play with them again, why not have a permanent mute button? One that you can mute and unmute, but still being able to see pings in game if they are just verbally toxic but still playing well. And keep the same report method that we have to report AFK players or players intentionally feeding/helping the other team.

Or how about if someone on my team is playing like garbage I can flag them and say "never put this idiot on my team again, please put him on the enemy team". That would be pretty damn useful.

The problem for this is that it's abuseable. All you have to do is "blacklist" the people you see as bad and then you will never have them on your team. It can be used to unfairly stack your team against your opponent.

Another problem with it is in the extremes of high and low tier, having this system would make queue times very long. I already experience 5-9 minute queues for ARAM, if I could actually blacklist people I don't like playing with(since I run into a LOT of the same people) I would probably have even LONGER queues, which wouldn't be fun.

I mean, if someone has a bad game, and they get 4x reported toxic despite not saying anything demeaning, it really is kinda bad.

Reporting for unskilled player sounds like a good idea, though, if it had that effect. The only problem I see is that the reporting rate will go up tenfold, as people will report simply not to play with certain players.

There will never, ever be a way to directly manipulate matchmaking. It doesn't matter how small of an effect you think it would have, people would abuse it, and this is why Riot have stated every single time this topic comes up that it is not happening, and it never will.

Been going through everyone's match history that say they would love to make it so they don't have to play with baddies. All of them have games where they got shit on. Moral of the story... Everyone is a baddy sometimes.

Just block them. They cant implement a 'not make you play with x' because it could potentially be abused. Blocking the user is incredibly effective. You can't see anything they say. Not in lobby. Not in game. Not post game. I've played with a handful of users that I'd blocked previously, but it was fine. Cunts don't really seem like cunts if they're mute.

Preventing someone you reported from being matched with you is more problematic that you may think. Imagine a game with 10 players (named from player 1 to player 10): Player 3 and 4 flame each other and will report each other. Player 1 (who lost the game because Player 3 and 4 were occupied flaming) will report both, and so will do the enemies Player 6 and Player 7.

They all queue again for another game. Player 1 can't be placed in the same team with Player 3 or Player 4. It's OK, he will be placed with Player 6 and 7, along with Player 2 and Player 5 who did nothing. But Player 3 and Player 4 can't be put together either, so you'll need another game to put one of them. So f*ck Player 3, he was a Teemo main, he's not in the game. Player 4 is now in the same team as Player 8/9/10 and the new Player 11. The new Player 11 is a kid and he reports Player 1 because he carried the game (these things happen), he also reports Player 8 for feeding.

You can imagine what's up next. With only those 2 games you'll need to create more games with more players involved to avoid placing two "non-friends" together, and it would grow exponentially. We'd probably have 30+ minutes queues and we'd end up matched with 2 diamonds, 1 bronze and one level 42.

i just ask to not be on the same team as them.. if i put them on my ban list. i am okay with going against said name person. my theory failed me about 5 times... 2x the person was back on my team and it seems they got the role they wanted and success 2x he was on the enemy team and he actually carried.

based on results of personal experience up vote to OP 1 time... well lets not talk about that one time.

all the other times i got that person on my team for the next match and they did the same things again = /ff or i got them on the enemy team and they did the same things again = success
