Opt for GLP mostly for Glacial augment. (Mostly good on unrealible already high base dmg champ eg Ahri Velkoz or infinite scalingVeigar ) Usually take a hexteck gunblade on really good hybrid champion (Jax Kayle Katarina Akali) but sometime is good for a bit of extra dmg on Leblancbut i belive isn't worth it and it's viable on Kennen and Teemo but there are better item on them.

I mean...why would you build a Protobelt on a champ that doesn't go into melee range? Why would you build a Protobelt on a champ that needs sustain?

Gunblade is good on everyone, who has hybrid scaling with AD and AP. E.g Kayle Akali Katarina Kaisa Varus KogMaw

Glp is good on those champions, whose skillshot is easily dodgeable. With Glacial Augment it is even more efficient. E.g who might consider picking it: Morgana Zyra Ahri Veigar Brand

Glp is actually a pretty good item, people just don't take it much, because Luden's offer more damage. I would say on higher elo, if you want to hit that Morgana Q much more frequently, then you should buy GLP. Most people say that if you can't hit your Q, then you are bad, but I would say the better the players are, the less likely you will hit it, because it is extremely sluggish and easy to move out from it.
