Are autofill and fill the same thing ?

I noticed I was getting a badge during queue that stated I would get my selected role because I recently autofilled. This is ironic considering I'm a fill aka support main. It's not affecting my queue experience I was curious if this was a bug or meant to be.

They are not the same thing. Autofill is when you are automatically placed into any roll (e.g. if you pick two actual roles other than fill). Fill is when you choose to be placed into any role. It does strike me as odd, however, that you would be auto-filled when you already select fill.
