Is using a keyboard macro cheating??

So i got a Razer Tartarus for my birthday and have enjoyed playing league with it, and i noticed it has the future to program macros and i was wondering if it would be consider cheating to use this in league for something like ward jumping (i could do this without a macro just an example) but i feel that would be and advantage over other players. So would a macro be cheating?

Yes macro's are considered cheating. Switching up keybindings is fine but assigning multiple things to happen from one button press is not.

I believe Riot has always been indifferent about that kind of stuff. Even if you did this the chances of you getting banned are very slim since you're not tampering with the client in any way so it would be pretty much impossible for Riot to detect it.

Also, you can assign multiple items to one button if you go to the input file for LoL located here C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\Config If Riot really gave a fuck they wouldn't make this available for everyone to access.

No, a macro is not cheating in the official sense, assuming the tool used for making the macro does not interact in any way with League's client.

I assume that it is merely a function of your keyboard to memorize the sequence and timing of a string of button presses.

Iv'e heard macros are technically against the rules, but it doesn't make sense, because take for example CS:GO, if one person has headphones, and the other doesn't, it's not cheating that the person with headphones heard footsteps and killed the guy.

Peripherals should not be considered "cheating" if you got it, ya got it, if not, then well, that's your fault xD It's like me with my Razer Naga, i have 14 buttons at my disposal, if i use them is up to me, it's not cheating, i just have the gear to not use a keyboard xD

Okay guys i made a ticket to rito and this is the final response

Hey there,

While we don’t strictly condemn the use of third-party modifications, these programs can be dangerous and worthy of suspension where they violate our Terms of Use. So, if something execute a set of actions in a way that couldn't be replicated by a human it isn't okay (i.e. dropping a ward and jumping to it as Katarina). Many times when you might feel a program is fine, it can have underlying features that you may not be using that are against our Terms of Use. In that case, it is bannable. In my opinion, it's better to be safe than sorry.
