i had a personal connection to his ghouls. they felt more involved. had better playability and the old ghouls were much cooler than the braindead ones you gave him. the rework was cool for like a quick second but i just miss my gimp leg bb even if i was shit with him. X(((

rip the fun yorick

I did play old Yorick, and and I played against it. I can't say much about new yorick in terms of how fun he is to play as, but I CAN say that he is much more interesting to play against. You actually know what his abilities do, can fight the ghouls, and are very wary of that wall thingy he does.

His ult could maybe be a little scarrier, as right now I'm never sure if it's attacking me or not.

you could fight pre-rework ghouls too. and they wernt as strong as the braindead ones. and if you dont know how someone works read them up. new yorick is just boring. but w/e i still have replays i guess

Between the new Yorick and old Yorick, I like both in their own way.

  • For the old Yorick, I loved how I personally played him as a bursty juggernaut with thunderlords, allowing me to win in 1v1 battles with almost anyone. I just use his W followed with his E, and while the enemy is slowed, I get in close and hit him with my Q. With thunderlords and Trinity Force, that is great burst damage for a juggernaut. With the movement speed from Q, I can chase down the opponent to finish them off or run away from the fight after dealing my combo. His passive is great for the innate tankiness and damage. If you are in the middle of the teamfight and you feel someone important is gonna die, just ult that person, and have them go berserk with nothing to lose once they die. The enemy won't suspect it if they aren't too careful. I love building full CDR on this guy so I can constantly have my ghouls up in fights. To me, he seems useful late game as an assassin/fighter type champion to finish off the remaining enemies. My main problem with the old Yorick is that he consumes too much mana early game and/or his ghouls die too quickly. Your probably have enough to do 2 full combos before having extremely low mana. In my opinion, if they were to reduce his mana costs and/or make it so that his ghouls can stay alive longer (heck even the new Yorick's walkers don't have a timer before they despawn), then he would be just good enough for me.

  • As for new Yorick, I can definitely say that his mana problems and walker survivability is better. However, he is good and bad in his own way. He has some good sustain with his Q which doesn't cost as much mana with lower cooldown. His wall is extremely useful (and annoying for the enemy) when used right. His DPS is unexpectedly insane when he lands his E and spawns 4 walkers, keeping the enemy trapped with your wall will force him to keep taking the damage or burn flash. His walkers don't have timers in which they will despawn. With his ult, he can apply pressure onto other lanes while remaining in the team fight or pushing a different lane, allowing him to be useful late game as a split pusher. Not gonna lie though, I'm not much of a split pushing guy unless I need to, so I still use my ult in team fights and it's still useful. My main problem with new Yorick is that he requires the death of nearby enemies in order to spawn his walkers. Unlike old Yorick, you can't really spawn them anywhere at anytime you wish without having to kill some enemies. When trying to spawn them in the jungle, it'll take some time early game before he can spawn his walkers and even having to receive a good deal of damage while doing so. I also feel like his passive could be moved into his Q and his new passive can be something more useful and innate, like old Yorick's passive.

These are just my thoughts between the two Yoricks. Still one of my main top laners though :D

i like the new ult. the ghouls are just so boring. i miss the personality each on had. honestly i dont think they had to completely rework him but of course that just my opinion. but instead of taking on the chellenge of balancing him they just made a new yorick :/

but yea i agree that he was bad and good at the same time. his poke was a annoying but his mana pool was horrible. he was a good fighter but lacked the necessary stats to be durable. i honestly never went tld but i probably shouldve. i didnt play yorick well. i had problems with wave clearing mana and simply stay alive cuz i was trash with him

but i find myself more in love with concepts than gameplay sometimes. i like'd having my colorful entourage of ghouls to gang up on my enemy.

i did love the old w. i bet it was tilting for an enemy to go for a skill shot and get cheese by pestilence and then getting slowed.

new yorcik is easier to deal with but old yorick is still my fave

Not to mention, people tend to underestimate old Yorick. I still remember the time I laughed after winning a game with Yorick and the enemy said:

" 'Their late game is sh*t!' - RIP Rengar 2016"

Apparently their Rengar thought that our team was gonna be weak later in the game. I bet he realized he was wrong after I almost pulled off a 1v4 and died with a Triple Kill and helped carry the game. XD
