I'm attempting to get better at support. I'm starting with Sona, because she comes off as a more aggressive support, but she has the ability to be much more passive. So, I'm hoping that I can do good. I'm trying to find a good build not so much for the runes part but more the masteries part, and the items (so I can stop following the recommended items...).
Build blue spooky ghost thing. take cunning to 18 getting biscuits and bandit and penetration then regen stuff in defense.
After spooky ghost her support build is highly dependent on game by game cases.
For masteries, I use Wanderer, Secret Stash, Meditation, Bandit, Intelligence, Windspeaker's Blessing, Recovery, Explorer, Runic Armor, and Insight.
For a build, get a sightstone, either boots of lucidity for long drawn out battles or sorcerer's shoes for more burst damage if you want to win short encounters, frost queen's claim, sheen if you want more burst damage, mikael's if you want its active since they have long or important cc, ardent censor and/or zeke's if your adc or a Yi or Tryndamere on your team is fed so they can kill everything, or locket if they have a lot of ap. Then upgrade your sheen to a lich bane. There are a few other options but I'd try to do something like that.
