Can we be allowed to change our runes/mastery pages within the first minute of the game?

Or 30 seconds or something? Also summoners too because sometimes people forget to bring smite but you can't change them if you used a summoner spell (to prevent people from pre 1 minute cheese and summoner spell resets)

Sometimes the dynamic queue glitches and I am stuck with an unchanged rune/mastery page or it reverts to a previously selected one and plenty of people in my time here have before had accidentally started with the wrong masteries and/or runes, and the thing is they are stuck with that for the entire game, but maybe changing it in the first minute won't break the game but help fix those mistakes that impact the rest of the game, kind of how Kalista can rebind a person before minions spawn.

Edit: For those thinking of what happens when you can see the enemy summoners/runes/masteries we can always have them hidden until 1 minute into the game or until you see the enemy champions and the API can not release it until one minute into the game so that sites like lolking/op.gg don't show it either, that or people can try tricking others by faking what they will be bringing into the battle.

Honestly, that would be such a fantastic feature. I've often loaded into the game, accidentally forgetting to take smite as a jungler, and it's felt so damn terrible. I can barely complete one camp, let alone two.

I can't think of anything really wrong that might happen, tbh

I feel like fixing the dynamic queue glitching thing would be a more direct fix to that half of why this might be desirable.

As for simply accidentally using wrong runes/masteries, that's unfortunate and there would be some value there, but really people ouaght to be paying attention. Theres an extra number of seconds before the game starts after pick/ban that feels like it's primary purpose would be there to double check runes/masteries/summoners, and I feel like if people are going to ignore that, theres still going to people people who afk for the first 30 seconds of a game who would still complain.

That said though, sometimes people don't necessarily realize who their lane opponent(s) are due to flex picks or off-meta choices, and sometimes that's part of the strategy (i.e. to get people to have suboptimal runes/masteries for the matchup). Being able to change summoner spells would similarly change some of the strategy, as some rune/mastery/summoners decisions might be made around the fact that "oh, they have no TP, so..." or "Oh my lane opponent is running ignite so...". This would change some of the higher level strategies, although not necessarily for the worse, but it is something to consider.

We can always have the summoner spells not visible until either you see the enemy champion or 1 minute after the game starts. Either way glitch or no glitch it happens to some people and us as well, this would make it so you don't doom or ruin a game by giving a small window to fix your error. If a person is afk for the first 30 seconds and the champion selection that's their problem, just because someone is going to complain doesn't mean it isn't something that shouldn't be done. It's also your problem if your jungler doesn't bring smite or other people.

Dude, that's a fantastically neat idea. Unfortunately I bet it would require some very significant tweaks.

Honestly something I'd prefer in this system would be a "Select X set of masteries/runes for Y role". Such that if you queue up for Jungler/Top, you start with Smite if you get jungler, but TP if you get Top lane (and same for masteries/runes). Kind of like how they implemented Custom Item Sets for champions in the shop (nothing makes it easier to remember to buy Pinks than having them at the top of your shop).

and also. summoner spells. we forget smite sometimes. especially witht the amount of dodges since you have to change them every time you queue up.. you forget.

Already added that, title space is limited.

This is a mighty fine idea, game is already challenging enough without getting shafted by a buggy client (referring to the runepage/mastery glitch).

Yeah, but then again so are replays and mirror cameras for the purple, err red team that people have been asking since 2009.

I don't expect we will get this in a while, if ever, but I have my hopes that one day when I have a ranked game and my jungler says "oops forgot smite/masteries/runes" they can actually fix it instead of dooming my entire game.
