At leagues launch, the map was different (no physical changes, only cosmetic). This was from 2008 to 2013, 5 years. It is now almost 6 years since the release of our current summoners rift. Anyone else think the game should update the map again?
I feel like this iteration of the SR map has aged very well. The original one was pretty dated by the time it got a touch up (as much as I love the nostalgia of it).
I'm sure Riot could make current SR look better, but personally I don't feel like it's necessary or a particularly great use of their time (far as I know they'd been busy working on the map for Nexus Blitz anyhow).

No, the map is the most consistent thing about the game. It's actually a helluva lot more complex to change the map than you might imagine, because it has to have tons of coding go into it (Hi Bard! Hi Talon! Hi Flash!) and it's state has been something that's been perfected over the years. Changing the map just opens the door to a whole mess of new bugs and problems, and there are enough of those as is.
