EDIT: I don't think people are getting the point of this. You should get champion mastery points based on your grade, not Victory or Loss. The mastery system was introduced to reward good play. NOT WINNING.

The Quinndred1 votesYou can only carry so hard against a fed Viktor, Irelia, Vayne, Bard and Yi. This game lasted really long so while I was able to hold us through the early and mid-game, to a certain extent, you can't win a game 1v5.

Yeah, clearing facing 5 enemy nooblords is an indication of your supremacy in a particular champ.

Not only that, but the ranking is based on KDA and CS compared to the average player. So, if I had actually been instrumental in that game, but due to reasons had a lot of deaths, I'd get a low rating because of what metrics they measure for "mastery."

In any case, while I understand making Mastery gain higher when you win a game, the disparity is massive. You get anywhere from 500-700% the mastery points for a victory.
