The road I've taken to get to s1.

I started playing ranked 2 years ago. Its been a long road for me. In the start of my league experience I was your typical noob. Along with that I was battling a very real drug addiction. Klonopin, Ambien and hydros. Most of the time I played I was high out if my head. I didnt think too much of it because I made it to diamond in starcraft 2 while on the same meds.

Last year I found sobriety, sadly to say it was in the form of a 10month prison sentence. But that sentence was the greatest thing to happen in the past 9 years of my life, 7 and a half of which i was abusing those pills like tic tacs.

When I got home January of this year I was still very bad at the game. Bronze 5 bad. For 3 months I played the same constantly blaming everything but myself. Then I duo'd with a buddy from work and I jumped from b5 to s5 (believe it or not I was the on who was carrying) after me and him got to s5 he ended up dropping back to b3. That frustrated him so he stopped playing. I was on my own again.

I started taking advice seriously. I took a step back and told myself out loud in each game what I need to do to win and follow through. I began to be more conscious about my item builds in certain team comps and situations.

I am now s2 in promos to get to s1 I looked up my account on op.gg and am happy where it says my mmr is. I know those sites are really a rough estimate but I feel like its an accurate measure of my current skill. It says I'm a gold5. My girlfriend is going home out of state to visit with her family next week for 2 weeks and I'll have the house to myself so pretty muchgonna be no life'n league for 2 weeks. Going for gold before the season ends!!

Wish I could thank everyone who has ever given me advice. May have taken me a while to use it but better late than never right?

It's better to play super buzzed instead.
