I posted a reply to a thread last night this player was complaining that his account was Parma banned. He didn't include why he was perma banned just that he was. My reply was then removed by riot saying I was being a jerk. The part of the comment they said was jerkish was simply me saying "if you did something on purpose to be banned they usually don't unban accounts any way."

Are you serious righr now?? I was simply sayimg exactly what I have read many many users write. Like I know I shouldnt be but I'm actually really really anoyyed by this.

Ignore it and keep doing it. I say far worse things on most posts, and say worse things on these sorts of posts. You just had a particular moderator who had nothing better to do with his time at the moment he saw the comment.

on the new wardens thread you can see a post with an image saying ass or tits and the moderators answered in a nice way meanwhile they deleted my post for discrimination cause i said xin zhao has an asian spear in memes and games

Yeah, the moderation as of late has been dreadful. I had a post removed the other day when someone asked why they were banned, they showd their chat log and I said "you talk way too much during your games/spamming, you flame your teammates". They also talked about not being able to climb to which I told them that their CS was at a "Bronze level". This was apparently "rank shaming", but I was simply stating a fact----if you're getting 90 CS at 20 minutes that is definitely Bronze level.

The moderation on the Boards needs a significant overhaul.

I posted something in reply to someone and I said "This is bordering on a personal attack" to describe his post, and a moderator thought I was saying that I was bordering on a personal attack and deleted my post. It was just a misunderstanding but it was more of a laugh to see them misinterpret it.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience with us. We are currently in a bit of a rough transitional period and have only been on the job for a couple days now. I agree that the action taken against you was a bit excessive and I will mention it to the rest of the team.

That being said you were still in the wrong with a comment like that. We have noticed some tendencies growing in Player Behavior that we don't approve of and are trying to crack down a bit harder there. I am sorry that we didn't handle it better, a warning may have been more fitting rather than a deletion of your comment. I do want to make it clear though that future comments that fall into the same area will continue to be dealt with accordingly.

Honestly I just don't understand how "if you did something on purpose to be banned they usually don't unban accounts any way." Is in anyway rude or against any sort of rules to be as you said " I do want to make it clear though that future comments that fall into the same area will continue to be dealt with accordingly." falls into that are of these rules. Literally I have seen people say the same thing countless times. If you get perma banned it is highly unlikely to be unbanned. I appreciate your reply I am just very confused.

Just to make one thing clear real quick: I am a Roaming Warden, player behaviour threads fall outside my jurisdiction. This means that I don't actually make decisions regarding the moderation of this board though I can still help as a player, specifically one who is directly in touch with the those that do deal with this board.

Anyways on to the main point. Personally a post like that isn't something I would delete. If I saw someone doing it frequently I would probably have words with them but for the most part I don't have a huge issue with relatively passive posts. That being said I believe they reacted to the fact that your comment was distinctly unhelpful in a thread where the goal is to help someone. It may very well have been a case of working to change a general trend and over reacting to a fringe case, though I can't speak for them.

Also keep in mind that the boards were pretty lax in the past, there weren't enough people scouring them to deal with relatively minor cases. Since the wardens were only instituted a few days ago now that has changed, and it will take some getting used to on both sides. We are still getting used to dealing with cases and will most certainly make some bad calls. The boards also has to get used to the idea that we have enough manpower to deal with a number of the smaller offenses that slid by before.

Things like this are going to happen for the first week or two while we adjust to the role, especially as we are building up our structuring as we go. We really didn't have anything in place before this and we have to learn on the fly. We are still adjusting to our roles and responsibilities and I ask that you be patient with us.

Hey Black Realm,

That's the new Warden name. There are about 20 of us and we are community volunteers that assist the Arbiters in moderating the boards. You can read up on the roles in general here and the jobs of specific warden groups if you go to the appropriate board and look for the discussion pinned up at the top.

I am deleting your Comment here, because it breaks the Universal Rules of don't be a jerk. Please do not be a jerk and tell someone their account probably won't be unbanned anyway. This is a mild case, but I would encourage you to post constructive feedback in the future if you wish to make claims like that. For example, you could link to a FAQ about suspensions or banned accounts and explain Riot policy.

Did not you read the post of deep terror nami about ppl having their account bann ? Like being respectfull and try to help them and empthatize ? I mean no one know if youre a jerk or not but still it could usually refer to this if the post you sent a comment had a bit of emotion . No one want their account bann and it may be their fault but everyone can be frustated and try to share and usually if you dont care dont write anything and go to another thread .

There is a reason why I don't do serious discussion on the NA boards any more. The whiteknighting and political correctness movement here has made the boards a "safe space" where everyone is a precious flower, and no unsupportive thing is ever to be uttered.

Come to the EUW boards, moderation is really good over there =)

Want me to have serious debates on the NA forums? Then explain to me why I cannot, for example, cite Match Data of a player, which is publicly available data btw. as an argument in a discussion without someone getting triggered because apparently using such data is a "personal attack".

The thing is that it's really hard to have a debate when the majority of the crowd is throwing emotion at logic (I'm not referring to this particular case of course).

Let's be real. To differ from other discussion-based platforms and forums, the Boards has this stigma where thoughts and ideas that doesn't suit the "Let's not upset each other and dismiss everything that isn't pure positivity" mentality gets overwhelmed with negativity. There's no place for controversy. A scenario where people are accepting and understanding when it comes to topics and ideas that are seen as politically correct. However when it comes to a topic that doesn't fit this "Everything needs to be positive" mold, people find some sort of unity in telling the person that their feelings are wrong just because it doesn't suit the positive norm. That's my biggest concern with this forum. I like to see it as some kids TV channel where melancholic and unfavorable ideas are shun upon because you need to keep up this one-dimensional enviroment.

(Sorry if the phrasing/grammar is shit, I'm swedish)

Honestly, having a forum section for Player Behavior at all is inviting in this sort of thing.

There are handfuls of threads about generally discussing behavioral phenomena in this game, or debating ways to improve the system, but the vast majority of threads these days are folks complaining about their ban. And when somebody is posting logs full of toxicity and hate speech, it's hard to respond in a way that is "positive".
