I'm really really tired of tanks dominating this game.

I just played against an Akali top who built tank. The game before that I went against an Ekko top who, also, built tank. This is a sign of an itemization issue. Champions that have no business building tank items because their kits don't scale with stats like health or armor, should not gain nearly the benefit when building that way.

It's frustrating because it removes the incentive of building damage items, and mechanically or positionally outplaying an opponent to achieve victory. Tanks require far less mechanical skill and are far more forgiving in terms of positioning. Seeing that everywhere, means that burst damage has become completely obsolete.

This is....in short..... A BORING META.

And it isn't just top lane. This is a risk averse version of the game where every champion in every role has a dozen "outs" to avoid death. Where invulnerability ultimates, anti-burst items, cheaper than hell Zhonya's and GA, and the most gold efficient tank stats the game has seen in years, absolutely dominate the game.

I'm tired of it. Say what you will about burst damage, but I'd rather deal with a champion that required some skill to kill me, than some stupid bs like tank fizz, who i can't escape, burst, or sustain against.

Nerf Sunfire into the ground. Nerf Hexdrinker into the ground. Stop adding invincibility to this game.

Anti-Playmaking is anti-fun. I want there to be some death in my games.

This is a sign of an itemization issue.

Then your OP is misleading.

A champion building tank isn't necessarily a tank (Ekko, in this case, is however, which is a balance issue in itself if he can be an effective tank instead of just an AP bruiser).

Just a tiny nitpick. A true tank meta is definitely different, and has different issues altogether.

That's not an itemization issue. That's a champion has too much free damage issue.

Ekko, akali and fizz aren't tanks. Just because someone builds tank items on a champ doesn't make them a tank anymore than building infinity edge on annie makes her an adc. Maokai, alistar, and braum are examples of tanks.

You mentioned 3 champs specifically ekko, akali and fizz all 3 are assassins. Assassins are designed to do damage because their job is to kill people at the risk of dying themselves. It seems more likely that they are merely abusing their high damage because they're assassins and going tank to offset the risk.

Personally I don't think the idea of assassins in the traditional sense work well in lol. If assassins worked for example where they were good at cleaning up kills as opposed to deleting someone before they could react they would be more balanced and fun to play against. As it stands assassins will always be complained about for their individual kill potential and be in a state where they do their job too well and aren't fun to play against or not well enough and are considered trash.

You can make the argument that tank items are too strong but looking at the champs in question it seems like certain assassins are too strong.
