How to beat Illaoi

It's come to my attention many finding her unbeatable/annoying in lane. I'm here to help you fight against her.

Before i start, before you complain about her E, just now that it's meant to punish you if it lands. You wouldn't stand in the middle of Heimerdinger's turrets and be like "tf why am i losing lane all of a sudden".

Firstly, know what Illaoi is good at.

-Pushing wave -Zoning you off CS -probably the best anti engage in the game

• best 1v2, 1v3, and if fed enough, 1v5 ult in the game

So it comes to reason that champs who beat her are: -Can match her push -Can tank full spirit grab, many champs can -can leave lane and impact lanes in an impactful way, something illaoi can't really do

• have dis-disengage from her ult -Clear tentacles with ease. -MS or ranged comps, but be aware, good illaois can still shove a vayne/quinn under tower through wavepush, in which case the game depends on the rest of the team

she tells you how to beat her in the game too. "all is motion". Fast champions are chaos.

Champions that beat Illaoi: - His Q blocks her E relatively easy. And without nearby minions Illaoi can't escape W (cage). It takes her decades to clear cage or ghouls (since her tentacles dont do much damage to them). Yorick matchs her in splitpushing and teamfighting that it's hard to not win in lane or out. Oh yeah, if Yorick plays a little defensively his R blocks E and thus, making him win the 1v1 where her Ult is neutered.

- it's going to take some time to dodge her E, but with practice should be fine since you're alot faster. Ultimately, it comes to a point where Tryndamere can do more damage than illaoi can sustain, and kill her..... even through her R with his own. basically, press r and right click on illaoi as she dies since she has no escapes.

- Good Garens will probably always beat Illaoi. Use his E to disengage or run from Ult, he's bulky enough to survive landed E's, and if he leaves lane..... there's absolutely nothing Illaoi can do to stop him.

- Nasus gets free stacks from tentacles. As per usual too, he wins if he reaches late, regardless of who had the better laning phase.

- Almost the same as above, but she has the sustain, range, speed to beat us before outscaling..
