after the rework he is fairly balanced before only viable build was tank/splitpush now you can be viable building full damage, full tank , bruiser and juggernaugt
able to contribute to team fights better no longer pigeonholed as 1 build path
udyr is now a very fun champ
able to duel and kill 1 shot 
build under her tower

Personally, I can't really feel the difference between yesterday's Udyr and today's Udyr. It just looks like Tigerdyr has been buffed and become the best one, but I still don't know how I'm supposed to itemize for him, since he still needs movement speed, attack speed, cdr, mana, AD, AP*, HP, armor and MR.
*if you don't build AP, the shield from his W is almost unnoticeable.
