This may be a silly question, but could someone give me a logic reason of why you can edit your masteries while in champion selection but not your runes?

Well, Rune Pages cost 6300 IP. If you could edit them in champion select, the only reason to buy it would be comfort. But Runes and Rune Pages are overprized anyway, so whatever.

Besides that though, there are so many ways to manipulate masteries for each individual matchup - 20 pages wouldn't be enough, but any more would be too hard to load up. Team comp can make it worthwhile changing a point or two in masteries before a game.

For runes, there are less options. You're going to run all of the same marks, seals, and glyphs (with few exceptions). 20 pages is enough.
