Season 6 and the tank meta
High mobility, damage creep, one shots, matches decided within 10 seconds. Do you remember the patch Riot recently released that fixed all of these issues? Yeah, me neither.
I do however remember when i joined this game, season 6 which was the "tank meta" i remember not being one shot, or when walking into a skill shot felt like you stepped on a landmine or something. To me season 6 wasnt bad. The matches lasted up to 50 minutes opposed to the 10 it takes to rush inhib down mid. Mid and bot could still carry, sure it was annoying trying to get the enemy tank off your ADC...BUT THEY ARE A TANK. Tanks are supposed to be beefy, they are supposed to charge into enemy fire and provide support for the squishies.
Season 6 also had the old runes and masteries. These were so much fun to customize and make, so you had an advantage with a certain champ. Rather than the current cookiecutter rune system built around like a handful of champs and forced on everyone. Its like making pants for a 98 lb 5'2 person and making a 6 ft 200 lb person wear it. Its bad, really really bad.
The current state of this game is just poor, poor champion design, poor balancing, poor communication/feedback between the developers and the community. Honestly can we just go back to season 6? Go back to tsnks being able to sponge damage i mean hey if you wanna make ADC and assassins over powered make them overpowered vs other squishies dont make it a thing where even tanks get blasted to kingdom come in 2 hits. Go back to the old rune system, it doesnt hurt to back track and admit you guys made a huge mistake. Like honestly you guys back track on nerfs and end up buffing the same thing you just nerfed 2 patches back. Why cant you revert runes i know you have patch notes and everything from back then. Just try it out next season as a test and see what the community thinks. If its bad whatever just go back to the current system. I really want to play this game again. I quit in october of last year and havent played this game since and it will probably stay that way if things dont go back.
I mean back then i didnt really see the boards complain about much besides MMR and certain champs i e yasuo who has been broken even since i got here.
P.s Some of you older guys might go (no season 6 sucked blah blah blah season 3 and above) i wasnt here for that so i dont know what its like. I do however know sesson 6 was the most fun i have ever had and from there it sort of fizzled out and turned into one of my most hated games by season 8.
