Offering up possible solution to support bottlenecking issue.
In the past , junglers have had several issues. These range from allies taking their camps, either to get to lane with a lvl2 advantage or mid is just bored waiting on next minion wave so they take wraith/raptor camp. Allies taking camps basically whenever they want, or enemy top laners with smite stealing gromp and blue/red side buffs. So what did they do? Creating a summoner spell for the sole purpose of enchancing a single role (Jungle) wasn't enough, since top laners could take Smite just as easily. So what they did was tie the bonus gold, experiance, and (rip) buffs to smite being a condition of owning a Hunter's Machete/Talisman.
This way, top lane can take smite if they wanted, but without a jungler's component item they get less gold, not enough exp to hit level 2 and cheese their lane, and they wouldn't get gromp poison, krug's heavy hands, or raptor's sharp sight. This effectively discouraged non junglers from picking up smite and made it easier to junglers to SECURE THEIR OWN CAMPS. Because it's bad when an enemy is counter jungling you, it's just terrible when your OWN TEAM is setting you behind.
So, how about, we either create a new summoner spell for supports, and /or create or edit an existing item in such a way that it synergizes with the support spell making it unappealing for anyone else other then support to go. Either the spell isn't effective without the item, and the item can't be used without the spell. And what I'm thinking, is if Jungler's get smite to help with camps, I want supports to get a new spell that creates vision
Smite holds charges. So let's give, Support's a summoner spell with a charge or refill system, that either places a ward, or simply grants vision over an area for X amount of time. The details can be hammered out in discussion but this is my point: Sightstone is an 800 gold tax item. On a role already starved of xp and gold. If we remove the pressure off supports to buy into their vision, we can create an enviroment where they can be happy to spend that 800 gold else where. Maybe KEEP sightstone, and buying sightstone REDUCES the summoner's vision spell? Or maybe the item costs less when you have the support spell? Or perhaps instead of dropping vision wards, with the summoner spell the item "evolves" into a Red Sweeper that can be used 2 or 3 times before needing to refill at the fountain?
We've all heard the complaints, we all know the problems, now let's start working on solutions!
