real supports....why dose riot hate them?

lets just get the unpopular opinion out of the way... are not real supports they are apc's that can "support" via one to two things, the damage output or the slight cc, ie stun, fear/silince, snare/slow, konck back( repectively in that order). the reason they can work atm is riots love for , it's not an item for every support, yet it goes well with those liksted along with . however the nerf and keep nerfing , it is the best thing for some supports and not others...yet they demand that if you do not go then you must go . Can we please decide which is the better between the three without riot nerfing the one that imo stood out, to the ground to be almost worthless( ie you have to almost walk over the coins now to collect them, instead of having some room to walk and get them at least somewhat safely.... On another note, as a support i miss being able to rain wards on the entire map( 20 in bag and showing them on the entire map) also miss being able to build the gp 5 items like philosophers stone, heart of gold, ect....

I'd argue that Lux works as a legitimate support. She has a decent double snare as well as a long lasting AoE slow that can be shot past minions. Her shield is also very powerful after the buff it was given a while back. Her ult isn't really about directly supporting her team, but it does provide vision over a long range when fired. I'm pretty sure her E provides vision while it lasts as well.

"Support" Brand can go jump in a lake though.

I really don't see the issue with them so long as you have a heads up jungler. Maybe that's the problem is in solo queue they have outsized power. But if I'm the enemy, I bait their mana bar to zilch and let the Kha'Zix or Xin Zhou light them up.

All four of those champs are immobile mages. A roaming Kat should eat for days.

I disagree about lux.

also item 3303 is often the easiest mission to complete and item 3302 is probably the most difficult just because of how close you have to be to the enemy.

to be fair...

isn't your job early game to keep pressure off the ADC by allowing him/her to free farm? therefore isn't poking the enemy to oblivion an acceptable way to do it, because now they cant step up to the creep wave for their own minions?

the did nerf spellthief as well, before the strongest user was clearly morgana, one W 3 procs, and brand, any spell 3 procs. the problem with the other two items is that they are worst when you are behind in several champions, most of the time getting close to hit a cannon minion means taking harass, and the coin punish you for roaming too much, both have the potential to get you the most gold if use perfectly but spellthief is just much easier to use

as far as supports go we will have to see what riot have plan for after the fighters patch but that is so far down the line...

Lux is fine, tho not "optimal" she is Functional as a legitimate Support. She is more like Karma where she is kinda somewhere on the border.

(Now if they could just make Orianna Support viable again :/ )

As a whole, I don't really care that AP Mage supports exist, so long as they are in a fair and balance state, making tradeoffs and sacrifices for doing so.
