The Biggest Rework of All Time
What is the biggest rework of all time? Everything is considered in this, from the kit changes, to the lore, to the model itself.
First names that come to mind are
Master Yi, who's Q was previously Highlander, which is his today's ultimate. His R was Alpha Strike, which worked in a bit different way. His W and E were a bit different than they are today, but nothing major.
The other name that comes to mind is
Twisted Fate, who had insane scalings, his Q and W were quite different than they are today, but the big thing is that his E allowed him to teleport, which is the second part of his current ultimate. The first part was his R.
But, the thing with these two reworks is, their kit didn't change that much, as they still have all their current spells but in different forms. There were also no lore and visual changes, I believe.
_I'm pretty new to the game and I don't know all the reworks, but, I believe the biggest reworks happened recently. _
**Sion **turned into a whole new champion recently, with his kit, visuals, lore and the theme itself was changed completely. I feel as he is the best choice for the Biggest Rework of all Time, but I started playing recently, as I said, and I want to know other people's opinions. His Q changed completely, his W changed completely, his E changed completely, his R changed completely, so did his passive, he looks different, his lore is different and his playstyle is different.
**Gangplank **rework was quite a big and cool one too, as it actually gave us quite a few new mechanics. The Krakens are a fun addition to the game, and quite a different one too. The Barrels are also an unique addition to the game. The Ultimate upgrade is something we've never seen. His model was changed, and in a cool way, I think. His story continued but it wasn't really reworked. I don't think it's the biggest rework of all time but it's worth mentioning.
**Fiora **rework was a cool one too, her W changed into an unique, maybe a bit unbalanced spell like none other. Her passive and ultimate were a cool, well, mini-game, which is pretty rewarding. Her theme and lore changed too. It isn't the biggest rework ever but it is definitely a big one.
**Mordekaiser **was a part of the Juggernauts update, but he stood out because he got the most changes. He was made into an ADC-sorta champion, who was able to 'tame' a dragon. It isn't that big of a rework in other ways, as it doesn't change the model or lore, but, it's worth mentioning at least.
**Graves **rework was also not a big one if we look at his lore and visuals, but, he changed the Marksman role quite a lot, seeing as champions are maybe going to start using his reload mechanic. It's a minor rework but it's worth mentioning as it is one of the bigger ones, kit-wise. It allowed him to start going to other lanes, most commonly the jungle.
**Poppy **rework is considered one of the biggest reworks of all time. It changed her Q, W and R, it changed her playstyle by a bit, her model changed by a lot, and her lore was completely changed. The reason why I don't think it's the biggest one is that her E stayed unchanged, and that spell is probably one of her most iconic spells and it kind of defines her playstyle, and as long as it stays unchanged it's going to be the key part of her playstyle.
**Shen **rework is the most recent one, and it changed his visuals by a bit and it also kind of changed his lore by a small amount. The thing is, it introduced a lot of interesting mechanics, like the Spirit Sword and the Spirit's Refuge.
Those reworks were pretty recent but they were also pretty significant. I trust that the title of the Biggest Rework of All Time could go to someone else in about 6 months or so, as there are few very big reworks coming out.
**Taric **is the next champion that will get a rework, I'm guessing in patch 6.5, though that's just my speculation. He is going to keep his defining traits, though Riot says that his rework is going to be on
Sion/
**Poppy **level, which already puts him high.
Yorick is getting a rework somewhere after mid-year which is also
Sion/
**Poppy **level, but, I feel like it may be the biggest one yet, as the Ghouls, who are literally the only defining thing in his kit, are the reason why he is so anti-fun, which makes me think that they are making a whole new champ on this one.
These are all my opinions, I'm interested in what veterans have to say. Discuss!
rework is pretty big
