Rank is not the same as MMR. Those Plat players are probably on some losing streaks, and I assume you're doing rather well at the moment.
Don't let ranks intimidate you, just play to your best ability and take notes on your mistakes for later improvement afterward.
I've gotten someone who was Bronze 1 in my Diamond 5 games lol, matchmaking is based off mmr so thats probably why I'm assuming.
