Biggest issue with League of Legends
The one thing that can actually be the most fun part about League, is also it's biggest downfall in my opinion, and that's the fact that it's a team game. It's an awesome feeling when your whole team communicates well and you're on the same page. Even when you lose, it softens the blow, and it's like "you know what, yeah we lost, but man we played a great game together and I would definitely play with this team again." But on the flip side of that, there's just too many afks, too many trolls, too many people that refuse to communicate at all, too many flamers and too many people that just can't understand how much better your chances of winning are if they'd just realize that your entire team is in it together and it's not about your k/d/r or being the best on the team. or carrying, and I feel that a lot of people's ranking is decided not by how well they do, but how well their team does, and there's a big issue there. Can't we brainstorm and find a way to make your rank more reflective on yourself instead of the 4 other people that you're forced into games with? There's got to be a way to single out your own performance in the game and reward, or punish, your rank based on how well you actually did in a game. Why should people lose 20 lp and an hour of their life when they focused hard and put everything they had in a game just to suffer a defeat due to an afk or that one guy that gets caught out in jungle for no reason, etc.? I think if you do well and there's a way of the game recognizing that, those people should be the ones losing 20 lp, while the ones trying their hardest and doing well should only lose maybe 5 lp, or however much just based on how well or badly they played. Or even if you lose, if you did everything you could and it was close then maybe they should actually GAIN 5 lp or so. There's been so many times where I've lost a game and thought "man I did so well this game, the problem was that I was on the wrong team." And It just feels really unfair. I'm not saying I'm the best, or that I'm this amazing player, because there are times where I deserve to be the guy who loses 20 lp, everyone has those games, but when your rank is dictated by 4 other people instead of your own skill, it can feel really intimidating to queue up alone. I'd love to hear other people's thoughts on the subject.
