How to prevent getting counter jungled?

Title.

I'm starting out to practice jungling and I like playing Amumu. It's already stressful enough when my allies start crying for ganks and I haven't even gotten my Cinderhulk yet, but how do I watch out for the enemy jungler stealing my buffs?

I start on with the blue buff usually but I don't do it first as on my grind I've usually seen people start the frog monster. From there I move on to wolves and then the scuttle so that my bot lane and I can have some vision of river. I recall and then proceed to do blue. After that I rotate to the other side. And usually by the time I'm there my red is stolen.

I'm a new player to League but not to MOBA games so either I'm going against more experienced junglers or I'm doing something wrong. Any tips for jungling or a good starters Youtube video would be supremely beneficial.

Thanks.

You should have human wards early game, and you're playing amumu, they know you need your blue. So it's either invade, or steal your red

Human wards?

Like have players stand in bushes?

Well, for starters try to go the side your bot lane is going. If you're blue side start kruggs and red buff/ vice versa with red side and gromp and blue buff. This provides a huge boost to your initial leash because you have 2 laners helping you instead of 1. The jungle items now prove mana or lifesteal so you can start whatever side you want to as long as you're smart about your jungle path. Second, scope out the jungle matchup you have that game, eg: Amumu(you) vs Shaco(them) you should EXPECT an invade at your buff. Certain junglers have a large advantage at low levels, and if they know you won't be able to take them 1v1 they'll probably come after you.

One thing you can do is ward about 10-15 seconds before your initial camp comes up so you can see the incoming gank when you're taking your buff. Change the order of camps you take: Gromp -> Wolves instead of blue buff then wait a bit to see if they're going through with the invade Take scuttle crab for the hp and vision You invade them Deal with the invade and outplay them so they wasted hella time

Hope this helps a little :)

Once you get better at clearing (at least with amumu) you can take both of your buffs before you back.

When I jungle, I normally don't back until I have about 900-1100 gold for my first clear

Another thing you can do is after you take your first buff, head up towards your other one and ward it before you back

Pay attention to which lane is giving your opponent a leash too

If you guys start the same buff, that means there's a decent chance that you will get invaded if you don't go there after you clear your starting side of the jungle. If you do have the feeling you're being invaded, if you still have a good amount of HP left and think you could take your opponent by surprise if you met, then go to his opposite buff and ward it. If it's still there, that mean's he either backed, or is taking yours. If you do decide to go check, I would ALWAYS play it like you're expecting him to be there and be prepared for a fight.

If you also go and gank a lane after you clear your first buff, that also increases the chance that your other buff will get taken. The other day I was playing a game where the enemy Kha ganked bot lane right after he cleared his red, and I saw he only had his red buff so I knew that he didn't take his blue yet. I immediately went there after taking my red and sure enough it was there. He didn't get a single blue buff until 25 or so minutes into the game

Dont rush Cinder hulk. Cinder hulk gives percent bonus health, and because you dont start with alot of health you want to get your smite item, bami's cinder, some tank/health item, THEN get cinderhulk.

Smite your wolves and ward well. Pinkies and wolves along with allies save your buffs.

BEST WAY HANDS DOWN CAMP HIM.... dont let him champ u!!!! DUH! if ur bottom camp his ass at his red.... like not right away but like if he start to camp u.... it will make it a 3v1 in a jg... if u lose bottom tower push mid ur adc be able to farm and tower for tower if they dont take ur tower u mostly pick up more kills.... tower just a tower early or not its not work dying for or standing around crying if u can leave ur lane to gank mid or jg its better u do it then to stay bottom and cry... other words DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT dont cry for help or wait on jg to get lucky
