Recently I reached Bronze 4 with Yorick top and Malzahar mid. Anyways, now that I am here, I am finding it really diffcult to climb because for some darn reason, the game gives me 13 LP rather than the the usual 20-23 LP. It's so hard to climb, like you win 4 games and then lose 2 you're back to 0 LP.. At first, I thought the game didn't want you to climb out so quick but turns out it's my "MMR" and as a retarded little Bronzie I don't understand it.. I've been winning alot of games with my Main champions, Yorick: 63%(13-7), Heimerdinger 70%(16-7) and Malzahar 47%(33-35)

Do I need to have a Positive Winrate to do anything in this game or what? It's like the game wants you to be stuck in your Division..

The confusion comes from people thinking their division and MMR are the same.

MMR is a hidden number that gives you a score based on how many wins and losses you have, and who those wins and losses were against/with. When you are matchmaking in PvP, it doesn't look at your divisions, it tries to match you based on this MMR.

If your MMR is significantly higher than the people you are matched with, you win more League Points than someone who has average MMR, and even more than someone who has lower than average MMR.

If your MMR is significantly lower than the people you are matched with, you lose more League Points than someone who has average MMR.

They do this so that people who are in Bronze but are playing at higher level are accelerated to those ranks to avoid unfair matchmaking.

After each game you play, your MMR is set in stone a little bit more also.

Someone who has 10 wins and 10 losses will probably win/lose more MMR than someone who has 1000 wins and 1000 losses. This also makes it harder to climb out of bronze if you have a high number of games.

If you are only winning 13 points but losing 20+, it is because the games thinks you belong in a lower division. Try winning more, and winning in streaks.

The game thinks you don't deserve to be there because overall your winrate is low. Once it hit 50% you'll probably gain and lose around 18
