Supports: How do you guys/gals deal with ADCs that just ventures too deep into the enemy territory?
Early game... Do you follow your ADC or just farm until ADC returns so you'll have your support champ's skills ready?

id try and follow help them out and keep the area warded but if they go to deep and you feel like the enemy is about to jump at him or you just ping danger if he keeps going ignore him and head back to lane.
Follow at first. give them benefit of doubt even though you will get disappointed. until i see their farm at like 5 mins i dont judge them. after that i start taking cs and pick up kills.
Ward it up, follow so they don't feed. Peel as hard as you can if it hits the fan.
It depends where the enemy botlane is:
Usually when an ADC goes this far, he wants you to back him up because we all know he will get into trouble when alone.
I bring them back.
I used to just chalk it up to the game weeding out the stupid because I could easily roam.
However it's really hard to make it out of bot lane without your ADC in tact like in previous seasons, so I usually ping them not to go as much as I can. They normally don't listen, I follow them, prepare for the worse, it happens. It always happens, and I heal and use my utility as much as I can, but I end up having to disengage abruptly after saving them. A wasted flash or ability for nothing.
Normally after we die once from something stupid I told them not to do, they say something like, "Stayed too long xD." After that they usually stop acting stupid, but moves like that can cost you the game right now sadly.
Don't try to steal CS or kills, you will just make it worse. Supports are not built to scale and making it to full build is a struggle. I see many supports go this route, even forsaking Sightstone, but the truth is that only puts of the inevitable 60 percent of the time. Your team needs a high damage DPS carry late game. Your ability power will not make up for that, especially if your champion is deeply tied utility instead of poke. Even then, they'll turtle then ace your team, take the mid inhibitor while your all waiting to respawn.
In my opinion, stay with them and save them from dying if you can. Thankfully a support's utility is not so heavily dependent on their KDA. You can still make a difference with a death, your ADC usually cannot. After the laning phase ends you'll want to find an alternative carry and try to wrap up the game as soon as possible using your utility and their damage. Keep objectives warded, even though that's not just your job, normally it's left up to you.
If your ADC is stupid, you absolutely want those dragon buffs.
... ? Dont scale?

Yep. Don't go full AP as a support and expect to do better than an ADC would late game. You also forgot one.
Annie and Brand "support" are probably the worst and most common offenders. It's soooo bad to take your ADC's CS. There's a reason bot lane is not a duo lane, and also why most supports rarely make it to level 18 before the game is over.
You're shooting your team in the foot if you choose this route. All your efforts should be going towards lessening the damage to your team that your ADC is doing. Putting out extra burst damage is only going to be effective for a short while. It works sometimes in lower ELOs. It's why we're seeing so many "supports". Ex.

I get the frustration 100% as a lower ELO support main, but don't create a bigger fustercluck in bot lane by trying to steal CS and kills. That's a big no no because you'll always get bested by the enemy ADC if their support is awake and recognizing what you're doing. All they gotta do is turtle it out and wait for your side to implode because you were stealing CS. They can even bait one of you because how aggressive you're being in the hopes you can become the APC. They'll likely succeed too, want to know why? There's no one there dedicated to support you.
I doubt the ADC is going to look kindly upon you taking CS anyways, because we all know they get pissed when we accidentally hit one minion without this item
.
You have a much better chance of coming back if you help your ADC recover from a stupid play or find someone better to support mid game. It's the way the game was designed, and although I don't always agree with it, I do get pissed when I'm filling out another role and my Sona is building full AP and not helping our struggling ADC. Now we have a huge problem bot lane instead of just a bump in the road.
Also I agree with Mighty, the exhaust advice is really good.
Well yes in low elo only
Follow them for a bit and then ping them back if it really is unsafe. Ward more. Dont use exhaust when you think it might lead to a kill. Use it to prevent kills.
Thanks. It has been my habit to use
and
combo for offense. Yes, even when playing as support; the ADC does the finishing blow on the enemy champ.
Have not really thought about using
as a defense spell; that is, until I read your response. Thanks!
...the most noticeable effect exhaust has is to reduce dmg by 40%. You didnt know how to use it....do you want to know how I deal with supports who dont use exhaust to stop the all in from the enemy adc? I rage. Because thats literally the first thing you should be thinking.
