Why Did We Remove the Auto Lock-In Feature?
Hey all. I know that numerous QQ threads have spawned since the addition of the new champion select, and that they've mostly died off in the past few weeks. However, I've been extremely bugged by the removal of the auto lock-in. I've been caught off guard twice in the past two days by the removal of this feature, as I tend to idle between champions when I'm observing the other team's comp and attempting to decide what champion I want to pick in order to best counter the strat they're going for. As such, I nearly always use all of the timer mulling over my options. This leads to me oft dodging unintentionally as I forget to lock in while making a last second decision. Now, one could argue with me and state that I simply need to get used to the new champion select, and they'd would have a point. Yes, I will eventually get used to being forced to lock in; however, I shouldn't need to. I understand that Riot is attempting to speed up champion select by forcing players to lock in, but I really don't feel as though it's really all that beneficial. While taking this feature out may have been with good intent, I feel that it should be added back for the sake of many players' sanity. Having to wait out an entire 30 second interval because a player doesn't want to immediately lock in is faster than having to go through an entirely new lobby because a player forgets to press lock in after selecting a champion.
