Dynamic Queue Problems

Basically Phylol hit the nail.

At 0:48 "Your Main and Secondary Roles are dependant on the actual roles themselves." You will get put into a least popular role by default even if it is your Secondary Role. This has been an issue whenever I pick Mid and Support. I almost always get Support because it's the least popular. Also when Filling, Support seems to be the default. 1:10 Strengthens this point.

At 1:50 Also talks about how "people who get Support 90% of the time are usually so sick of getting Support that they will change their Role, which further makes the lack of Supports an issue". It's already bad enough there's not enough supports, but now a lot of Secondary Supports are changing Role because they almost always get Support by default due to the lack of the role. Phylol then says that 'eventually this will only leave the Main Support Roles open and the Fill Role will be even more likely to be a Support Role almost guranteed".

At 3:00 Phylol now makes a huge point about how Solo players in Ranked are now suffering because of this premade system. At 3:17 "It really comes down to who has the BETTER premade, so what is the point of me playing really?" The example he gave at 3:30 strengthens this point. 'It's not that my top and jungler were bad or anything, it's just that the other 4-man premade was better and made better plays'. 4:00 also strengthens this point. 'Either I'm going to have this monster game where I stomp everyone... or if I play normally which is EXPECTED of me, then I'm either going to get carried by my 4-man premade or lose to the enemy 4-man premade.

At 4:22 he talks about how Solo Queue has become a Competitive LCS Teams equivalent now. At 4:50 Phylol says, "The thing is, ranks are NO LONGER a pure reflection of how good I am at this game. Sure it 'shows' if you played Solo but it doesn't show if the person played Solo or played 4 or 5-man Premade up to that Rank. It's like if you look at a profile and he's Diamond 1 and you think, "Wow this guy's a god!" and naturally he could've just 5-man premaded his way up to Diamond 1 and get carried most of the way. You have NO idea how good that guy actually really is."

Conclusion: While Dynamic Queue may have its positive sides and be a fresh new mode, it still has many flaws and downsides and it is impacting mostly the FIll, non-Support Mains who go Support for Secondary, and most importantly impacts the Solo players being paired with 3-man, 4-man, and 5-man premades. Phylol and many players including myself agree that it really feels like queuing up for a coin-toss at getting the better premade and feeling not as impactful when playing at the expected MMR.

Riot promised to give us a Soloq. Let us see if they deliver on that promise, if they don't and you care about having a separate queue, consider not buying Rp until they introduce it, it is the best way to let Riot know what the community wants.

Fuck you and fuck your Dynamic Que. Stop wasting our time and introduce SoloQ RIGHT NOW, as you promised. Stop buying time and think that we gonna find our premades, will get used playing with them and hope that we won't want to play Solo anymore... Even if I would find people who would like to play with me, I will not betray SoloQ - EVER.

Edited: becouse only SoloQ can show your actual skill level.

This is exactly what happened to me. I main AD and my second best role is support. I don't want support 80% of the time so I was forced to switch secondaries just to maintain my elo.

Dynamic Queue sucks so much now. Have you seen the youtube comments too? So many people hate it.

Yeah I totally agree with OP, I miss when going Solo/Duo was a thing. If I wanted to be paired with 4-man premade and be yelled at constantly by them, I would play Normal Blindpick.

Bro I was wondering why the fuck it got so hard to climb recently. I mostly only solo or duo queue and it feels like I'm playing in the LCS every game...

The main problem, which is pretty fundamentally unfixable (from what I've seen Riot say about DQ) is that the ranking is meaningless. You don't know what it means. It could be someone playing only with friends or pure solo. You have no idea. They don't separate out that information.

I haven't played ranked yet but my friends complain a lot about this new Dynamic Queue. Very informative video!

Dynamic queue is NOT the same thing as the New Draft / Champ select.

so when u play as a solo player ur suppose 2 be good at all rolls when u get a team then u can play ur roll.

The lack of supports is increasing exponentially (you can see it even in the long queue times) and I hope they have a solution. The premades need to be limited as well, three at the most... but even then skill can be reflected unevenly. (Does anyone know if it scales up the difficult of your opponents based on how many people you are duoing with, or does it match you with another premade?)

I have a potential solution for the supporting problem though. Riot should remove the supporting option from the dynamic Queue role select since it is contested so little. Support should be given to a person at random on each team with an algorithm in place to prevent people from getting it multiple times in a row. There are two groups that will object to this: the support mains and those who do not support. In order to handle this there may need to be a little team cooperation (which may be fairly unrealistic at the lower elos but we used to have the pure random roles anyway). If you are given support and you are not good at the role you need to communicate to your team that it is in your team's best interest if you switch roles with someone. If you are a support main, I am certain you will be able to obtain your support role most of the time through similar communication. This method is obviously not perfect but it is better than what we have now. Any other suggestions or ideas?
