Epic official statement on Smurfs

Epic has made this official statement on smurfs in their popular game Fortnite.

"On the topic of smurfing, we’ve seen discussion around players smurfing as a way to have easier matches. Smurfing is a bannable offense. We see a bunch of negative behavior that occurs with smurfing and issues with gameplay integrity. If we see consistent reports and perceive that you are negatively impacting other players’ experiences, we will take appropriate action."

My question is, why doesn't League take this stance in its game? It ruins ranked, casual fun normal games, and the new player experience, yet Riot does absolutely nothing.

Because Epic is idiotic. A player can have a lot of experience via other BR games and start fortnite. If they win often and significantly to the point where theyre "consistently" "ruining" games (how do you even do that in fortnite, an FPS lmao), that means the system needs adjustment to place them correctly faster.

Smurfing is NEVER an issue unless the system itself is flawed (current league) or the player is throwing a significant number of games in order to be placed consistently below his level of play....which is not the smurfing 99% of players are talking about in LoL.

Beside that, Riot needs to place players lower for losing games during placements, and higher for winning games. However, Riot aims to pad your time investment while climbing so you spend more time playing, considering skins, etc. This has been shown in the past.

Beyond that, Riot makes money off of smurfs via skins and boosts. They likely dont give a single shit about new player experience or their tutorial wouldnt suck so much ass.

smurfing is fine lol, most smurfs are either in ranked where people are looking to get better anyway, or aram because riot won't unlock the full roster there because money.

Because they will have to remove permabans and merge all servers together. It could be worth it actually, but there is no way to check without potentially wasting a lot of time and resources
