Can we please talk about Kennen?

Can we please talk about this little guy, and overall the current state of affairs with AP itemization? Kennen is in a really rough spot, he has been ever since late Season 4. Yeah he's played off and on due to his Ult, but overall he doesn't deal the damage he used to and when you have Braum who has the EXACT SAME PASSIVE but better, it's a wonder why you don't just play him top instead of Kennen.

Anyhow, yes I realize his ult is what brings him into games, but his ult is so Archaic and old along with his whole kit and build it feels underwhelming and useless when he's a SQUISHY MAGE who has to charge face in.

"But that's why you get Zhonya's" HAHA. Yeah, but ever since the AP itemization price increase it's balls hard to even GET THAT right now. Seriously Riot you've talked about all these champions that need work, and not ONCE have you ever talked about Kenne, or even oh I dunno...GALIO.

Kennen needs a VU, a splash update, and possibly some tiny buffs that he'll end up indirectly getting in the mage update, whenever that comes out.

because kennen is horribly oppressive as a top laner and as someone who plays a fair amount of immobile melees, i don't ever want to see what he's like when he's actually considered a strong pick

Braum who has the EXACT SAME PASSIVE but better, it's a wonder why you don't just play him top instead of Kennen.

because braum is garbage top lane by comparison?

If you are incapable of winning a lane as Kennen then you are playing him wrong.

If you are incapable of winning team fights with Kennen then you've a terrible team or...you are playing him wrong.

If you disagree with me then we'll just have to agree that one of us is wrong (you).

kennen is in a good spot right now. the difference between braum's and kennen's passive is that kennen can keep proccing his stun and braum can't, even though after kennen's first stun it's diminished. and also kennen only needs 3 stacks vs braum's 4. kennen's ult has always done work in every single game I've been in, be it my team's or the enemy team's. the amount of games I've won or lost because of kennen is pretty crazy, and I think it goes to show that kennen is fine right now.

Kennen wasnt a good pick last season because the game very long. He is still opressive in lane. Most of toplaner will start to bully kennen past lvl 7-9. This is how you must understand when to pick kennen when to not. If you have a master Yi, shyvanna or jax jungle then its good, by the time they get sated, you can swap and start to group, the jungle ressources should be given to the adc at this point and your jungler is split pushing. You will use your edge you got from lane to protect ur 3mates and possibly siege. With the fast game, Kennen is in a good position.
