What champion is the best right now? (Valuable information for Novices)

(This is valuable information for fresh lvl 30 people who're wondering what champion they should invest in.)

It's like this, for example, these are the top 5 supports : Zilean, Nami, Morgana, Thresh and Leona. Those 5 supports are the top because they have certain things about them that contribute to a team.

Leona: Hard engage, CC, Tanky etc Nami: CC, Sustain, Poke etc Morgana: CC, Sustain, Poke etc Zilean: Poke, Disengage/Engage, etc Thresh: CC, Disengage/Engage, etc

Next patch comes in and they give Blitzcrank a major buff. This replaces Thresh (the champ most similar to Blitz) HOWEVER, this doesn't stop Thresh from being good, vice-versa, even without the buff, this doesn't stop Blitz from being good. They are still the same champions and can still do the same things unless they get a whole new kit or nerfed super SUPER hard. It just replaces Thresh from being the best support. This is the same thing with Leona/Taric or Nami/Sona. The champions such as Blitz, Nami or Taric are still the same Blitz, Nami or Taric and one should never stray from picking them if that's their favorite champions. Actually it's a lot better you pick a champion your familiar with rather than something your not. Even then, this isn't completely right.

Because Champions that are just plain ez to play are not added to equation. Like Lucian is really strong right now, but your favorite champion is Urgot ADC, if you're just in it to win it, then you pick that Lucian, and that's because he's so ez to play. EVEN THEN that's not completely correct because what if Urgot ADC fits a lot better than Lucian in the team comp you and your team is creating? EVEN THEN it's not completely correct, because team comps are not that important in solo q, while it does help and the team with a better team comp have better advantages, you won't get everyone on your team to listen to what you have to say. So the answer of who's the best, or what's the best, explained in the most simplest way I can think of is that: The champion that you should pick should be someone that you can help your WHOLE team transition from Early game, Mid Game, and Late Game.

Not necessarily saying you should roam, since roaming is a gamble game that shouldn't be taken lightly.. You also have to take into consideration of the champion your going against. A prime example of good champion to play is Ryze (top lane). He doesn't have a hard counter. He's good in almost every team comp. He can be in the front lines and still deal damage. He wasn't always a prime example, but due to the shift of the meta, he now is. i seriously cannot think of something bad about Ryze at the moment, besides him being too well rounded. Meaning to say, that there are champions with a stronger early game then him, but all around, Ryze is a better champion.

Back to who is better is completely dependent on the situation, you must keep these facts in your mind as you lock in your champion, but remember that investing time towards one champion isn't a bad choice. But it's not the best choice. It's sure as a hell a safer choice, just not the best choice. It's best to have at least 2 champions in each role that you can play decently, or hold your own weight. You can have 1 or 2 from each lane that you invest time in. Like even if your decent at each champion you are really good with Kha'zix and Leona. I hope this helps you as much as I think it would've helped me if I had this information when I reach lvl30

That is the best champion FOR YOU!

TL;DR:

Assuming you've played the champion(s) you're considering picking:

  • Comfort pick
  • Counter
  • Team synergy

Pick two. That's the champion you should play

I have a hard time recommending 4800/6300IP support champions when Janna (1350) and Sona (3150) are cheaper and have mostly favorable matchups.

Every class has a few cheap default picks.
