DrCyanide1 votesWhen the replay is running, there's a record button in the center toolbar. Click it to start recording, watch what you want, then click to stop recording. You'll get a message when you stop recording about where it is (for Windows it's in "Documents/League of Legends/Highlights").
It's saved as a webm video file, which you can view in a web browser. It's easiest to play it using Chrome, where you can just drag the file into your tabs and it'll show it in a new tab and play it.
