Why are Tanks SO f***ing retarded? And WHY HASN'T RIOT DONE ANYTHING ABOUT IT?

idkidc123··3 votes·2,813 views

Why do tanks have 1,093,987,123 items that increase their tanky stats AND OFFENSIVE STATS???????

Ap mages and item only have 3 (completed) items that even give magic pen. And most of the time only two of them are ideal for said ap mages. There's abyssal specter, and that helps a little, but still only 3 ideal items for most champs. And even still, Abyssal isn't ALWAYS ideal.

ADCs have the most potential of killing a tank late game, but you should know by now how poor of a spot ADCs are right now. Their laning phase sucks, because of people always gang banging bot lane mind you, so depending on whose side gets cucked, said side will be pretty much useless all game.

When tanks get ahead, they can easily dominate the game if the enemy team is even equal to how fed they are. Tanks have all sorts of items ranging from health, shields, slows, and other utilities. Oh wait, they have offensive stats too. What's that, a 3 item Poppy is going 1v4, soaking all your damage, and able to kill your ADC who is kiting as best as he can? Don't worry, IT'S F!@#ING BALANCED IT'S HOW IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE.

I'm literally about to quit this game. The game is such a sh*t show. the only reason I play still is because I have friends to play with.

RIOT GET YOUR SH!T TOGETHER AND NERF TANKS/RELEASE ITEMS THAT COMBAT TANKINESS/NERF TANK ITEMS. THIS GAME IS LEGIT AIDS BC OF TANKS.

This IS a rant but tanks are seriously so bad I'm losing brain cells as a mid/adc main. Legit win or do ok in lane phase, but can't do sh!t because of tanks.

I don't understand this line's logic. Do you mean AD CARRIES are supposed to survive 4 man diving in the weakest phase of their games?

......................

I never quite understand you peep's reasoning.

Tanks are supposed to counter burst damage and be just another thing to be hacked away by sustain damage dealers, that's what they do. And you're telling us that it's their fault for doing their job properly? Cool.

If you think today's tanks, for the very most part, are oppressive, you don't know what it is like to really have oppressive tanks. You just whine about it because you can't pew pew everybody dead in 1 second.

No I'm saying that ADCs get screwed over because of these 3/4/5 man bots because bot lane seems to be the most heavily focused lane in the meta when it comes to early game fights. When they get screwed over, they are useless, and can't do anything against tanks unless the team can stall while the ADC afk farms.

Tanks are supposed to counter burst damage, sure. They're supposed to soak up damage for their team, and I understand that. But how is it fair for a squishy AP champ/ADC when a tank can literally go 1v3 or 1v4 and kill one person before dying or even escaping with low hp? And if the enemy team knows how to play Lego Legends even slightly, they can take objectives halfway across the map while we have to chase this tank down for 20-30s or else it's 100% not worth?

BluePolarizer3 votes

Tanks do not get to tank the enemy team for 20-30 seconds and most tanks are horrid against anything with even a negatron cloak or chain vest worth of resists. Check out Darius vs. Malphite games, where Malphite is basically a walking gold bag for Darius. Or any late game tank diving into Vayne/Kog/Jinx and getting rekt.

You mean the guy getting nerfed? Darius?

You mean the main tank melter? Called Vayne?

Kog has always melted tanks. Guess how viable he is at this current meta?

Jynx and Cait have been in a good spot for a while now. They aren't a representation of all ADC's.

Dude, it was quite obvious what he was saying. Idk why you think most adc's have an easier time with this current diving meta.

Point is, they are not supposed to have an easy time in the early game diving meta, that's the point. ADCs are weaker early game but monster late, so teams focus on diving them early to render them useless, simple.

ADCs are not supposed to be above the strategy that directly counters them.

You are supposed to swap strategy instead.

That's why the new champ select, and how Riot as well as the community has been enforcing the 1-1-1-2 meta is bad, because they had to make that 1 strategy completely broken in order to keep it afloat all the time. And just because it isn't as ridiculous as it was before now, counter strategy immediately surfaces, it's not that hard to imagine really.

Again, the champ select system should be more robust, rather than pushing this idea that this 1-1-1-2 is how the game is supposed to be played, which has led to today's state where people think it's the right way to League, and the fact this thread was even created. ADCs shouldn't be mandatory every single game, and when they are there there should be strategies available to counter it, just like any other thing in League.

No really?

But his point was clearly about ADC's losing their farm due to deaths and not getting fed enough due to being ganked, therefore any type of build you can think of to deal with tanks in the best manner, they won't have before the game ends now.

I don't get you.

  • Why should ADCs need to get free farms?
  • Why shouldn't ADC's early weakness be exploited by the opposition?
  • Why should ADCs be at the top of their own counter measures?
  • Why should we allow ADCs to always scale and perform in late game, instead of also allowing equal possibility of them getting squashed early and become irrelevant in late game?
  • Why do you think it's okay to not provide counterplay about dealing with ADCs but not so okay with tankers diving ADCs early which is THE counterplay for them?

ADCs are supposed to be weak early and monster late, it's a team effort trying to get them there if you want to use the ADCs. They are supposed to be vulnerable early to compensate for their game-closing potential. Otherwise if you can't get there or risk getting and dealing with being dived 24/7 then just don't use them and fight in early-mid game with other champs.

It's Riot and the community's fault who propagate the idea that ADCs are mandatory in every single match, that they need to be viable in and against every single strategy. No aren't, nor will they ever be in the minds of those who have the most bare-bones idea about what's up.

You should prob learn to read instead of attacking that strawman over and over again.

The 'no really' was sarcasm. Have you seen most assassins build like an assassin or have you seen them build fighter? ADCs are heading that direction because whatever affects assassins affects them as well for the most part. Sure, they are ranged, but it's getting to the point in which it's starting to matter less.

I mean, if we change your subject but keep the message and say that

Nasus is losing their farm due to deaths and not getting fed enough due to being ganked, therefore any type of build you can think of to deal with tanks/junglers/divers in the best manner, they won't have before the game ends now.

Idk about you, but that just seems like a stupid argument to try and play with.

Scaling character/factor is supposed to be a risk. You have weaker and/or vulnerable early game, but if you survive that you literally become a win-condition yourself. What say you wanna take the risk factor away? That doesn't make any sense.

But here is another thought: If you are however in the end of the day, revolving around that games usually close too early for any scaling to practically happen, then sure, this is at least a valid reasoning. BUT it is no so to try and bridge it to argue that ADCs shouldn't be able to be dived and/or focused early, because that's just removing their counterplay, and it's dumb.

Lastly, besides a couple of them who live on the offbeaten path, assassins rarely build fighter and when it happens it's usually as the last couple items to boost mid-late-game survivalbility.

Yeah, but when your adc is very behind or bad, and you're an Ap mid laner, then tanks just roflstomp you and it's not even fair. Like sure ok it's a part of the game, you lost, but it's so retarded when you win lane/go even and lose because of 1 person tanking it up. Even if your ADC is in a good spot, they can still get easily blown up, especially when there are many tanky champs that have cc/gap closers.

So you want tanks to just be walking HP bars and nothing else or what, and they shouldn't even be able to do anything when facing bad players who screw up or the champion class(s) they counter? What kind of logic is that?

Now reverse that situation. Let's say a tank player is behind and the midlaner and/or ADC is ahead and roflstomps a tank. Is that fair?

Or, do you know how annoying it is to win lane/go even as lets say, Nasus then get shit on by an ADC who's even more ahead? Is that fair?

Or let's say Im playing Vel'koz, I get 2 shotted by an ADC. Is that fair?

So me get this straight, its only fair if your stomping on everybody else in your matches, but unfair if the roles were reversed?

That's what im understanding from your post.

It takes 5 seconds for a team to squash a solo enemy ADC, unless it's a very fed ADC, like 5-6 item Draven. Then maybe it's a little unfair.

But,

It takes way longer than 5 seconds for a team to kill a solo enemy tank that is tanky. And depending on how slippery the player/champ is, they can last even longer. That extra time is valuable to a team that has half a brain. They could push the other lanes to put pressure, take an objective, do something useful while that tank is wasting the enemy team's time. And what happens if that tank lives? 9/10 times, they will have TP, so it's almost a guaranteed objective. Fair enough, you could say that team is outplaying. But when you can't do ANYTHING about it? How is that balanced?

Ralanr1 votes

5 seconds? You're actually exaggerating.

People have a hard time understand exactly what a 'tank' is it seems. A tank uses resistance/HP and a kit chock full of CC to do their job. Theyre often supports and lack the waveclear needed to function as standard laners because of it. Braum Leona, other notable tanks include Nautilus Malphite Maokai (mostly because they werent made as supports, and have the waveclear required to be standard laners... tanking is an expensive business.)

In the past, I've seen players call Brand a tank because he had Rod of Ages, Rylai's Crystal Scepter and Liandry's Torment.

Some people tend to incorrectly use the term for anything which doesn't instantly die or purchases defensive stats.

Akali Diana Ekko Evelynn Kassadin Katarina Kennen Nunu Sejuani Zac . You realize abyssal is a flat 20% magic damage increase, right? thats huge on melee and mid-range AP champions.

As for item 3116, a 20% slow where there isnt an existing slow is laughable. If the item still had 100AP i could see it as a sole damage increasing item, but its extremely weak now, very niche. You could buy it on sejauni, but if you do youre sacrificing a lot of survivability for a stronger slow.

You listed at least two tanks in there, if not 3.

Amumu is the one who benefits from item 3116 the most as a tank. He has no innate slow.

Also, item 3001 on a tank, that just means Akali can build more items and still get the bonus damage because they went in with the tank.

You say that as if nunu, sejauni, and zac dont have respectable AP bases and okay scaling. Amumu i can agree uses rylais fairly effectively, he is an AP fighter after all. slap a ludens on that yordle(?) and hes gonna stick like white on rice. But you clearly dont understand how certain types of champions are meant to use certain items, so you dont understand why the stat combination denotes the kind of champion its meant to be used on.

Its a losing argument im in, so fair play for winning it?

You already lost when you admitted a tank that use's it. You also can't see the benefit of a tank having item 3001 rather than multiple AP fighters. News flash: the aura doesn't stack.

A long range mage isn't going to rely on a AP fighter to survive long enough for the aura to be beneficial to them either.
