Ok I was silver 1 and recently almost got gold 5 but I failed my series so I got 1 free win towards getting it again but then I started losing a lot more and got demoted to silver 2 if I get promoted back to silver 1 do I still have the free win towards getting gold 5?

I don't think so. It happened to me earlier this year and I did not receive a free win when I returned to my gold 5 promos. It seems like if you get demoted then you lose promo helper.
Like you would have promo helper to get back into silver 1. But I doubt you will get a free win in your gold promos.
Yes. I was s2 and got demoted all the way to s4. and on my way back up to s2 I got a free win in every series into s2
