Spell shield vs Syndra ult

It's pretty unrewarding to try to save spell shield (Sivir) for a syndra ult, only to realize all but one ball has hit you. Is this an intentional design thing (to support muramana syndra or w/e) or has it just been overlooked since ya know...forever?

same with this poor guy Nocturne

For some reason, Syndra's ult is coded for each ball to be its own spell, similar to Ahri's fox fire.

Manamura on syndra procs on every ball hit of the ult or at least it used to. Havnt built it on her in a long time lol

I think the design is intentionally left as multiple spells due to the time of the animation. It wouldnt make sense if the first ball was spell shielded causing the shield to block that one and disappear and get hit with 2-6 more balls that do nothing against a character that doesnt appear to he shielded.

Yes it is intentional. Originally, when Syndra was released it was the way you want it to be, blocking the whole spell.

However, release Syndra was awful, and was given this buff so that banshee's veil wouldn't make her utterly useless.

It's annoying, but it's designed that way.

I guess it's just a strength of the character that isn't often considered
