Why Do Losing Streaks Happen?

Anyone know? They don't make sense to me. When you join a game you should theoretically have a 50% chance of winning and your level of skill can increase or decrease those odds. If you are a skilled player who focuses on objectives and knows the games mechanics your odds should be greater than 50%. So if you go on a losing streak, but you are still consistent that means you are constantly getting teammates that are inferior to your opponents. So aren't losing streaks a sign of a bad matchmaking system?

Any other ideas on why losing streaks happen and why they occur so often?

Because people are allowed to smurf, it's really easy to leave the game, not give a shit, you have a high chance of 3 of your teammates being tyler1 wannabees, then you got the players running League of Windows 95 with 400 ping (aka SamB).

It's simple:

Assuming you have 50 percent chance to win a game

You will have a 25 percent chance to win two games in a row

The odds continue to decrease the more games you play and win.

Eventually a losing streak will occur and balance out an earlier winning streak or vice versa

If you flip a coin 1000 times chances are good that you'll have some streaks.
